‼️ Park Update 5/4 ‼️
Due to the extreme weather today, and the forecast for the rest of the weekend, we have taken the decision to close the parks until Monday. The ground is saturated at the moment due to the constant rain we have had, and needs a little time to catch up. Any existing bookings can use the park as planned, or contact us to rearrange. We hope everyone understands, we want to provide the best parks that we can but the Scottish weather is not always on our side! ☔️ 🐾

*Road Closure*

We’ve just been made aware that Balgraystone Road is closed for some repairs. Access to the park remains, but is only from the Barrhead side accessing Balgraystone Road at St Luke’s High School. The closure is likely to be in place for 2-3 days. 🚗

Remember remember the 8th January.... as Aurs Road will be closing for 12 months. Although Balgraystone Road is not the official diversion route, it is likely to be busier as a result of the closure. Take care on the roads! 🚗

We've just opened up Jura Park for bookings on Christmas Day & Boxing Day next week. Why not treat your pet to a Christmas walkie at Off the Lead Dog Park 🐾🐩🎄

Jura is our newest park. It’s the biggest, and is also drive in, meaning you can open the gate and drive your car straight in to the park. It is securely fenced like our existing parks, and also has water provided. There is a shelter and picnic bench.

Some exciting news from East Renfrewshire Council this morning about improvements to Aurs Road which are long overdue. This does mean there will be increased traffic on Balgraystone Road for those accessing our parks, however the council have already added some additional passing places to help alleviate previous traffic issues. Hopefully this will limit the impact to our park users. As always we will monitor the situation and do what we can to serve our customers 🐾 🐶 🐕

🚧 Aurs Road – 12 month closure from 8 January 2024.

Work to upgrade and improve Aurs Road between Barrhead and Newton Mearns is set to start on 8 January 2024. The route is set to be transformed - from a winding, single carriage road to a safer, straighter road with a new active travel route and stunning waterside promenade overlooking Balgray Reservoir.

Aurs Road will be closed from the junction of Springfield Road in Barrhead to the junction of Stewarton Road in Newton Mearns. Diversion routes will be in place via Stewarton Road, Nitshill Road and Darnley Road.

We appreciate that there will be inconvenience caused by the road closure but the lasting legacy of this project for generations to come will make the end result worthwhile.

Once complete, the planned improvements to Aurs Road will:
• Form a safer, more direct local route between Barrhead and Newton Mearns by straightening out two sections of the road and replacing a weak road bridge
• Create an impressive waterside promenade with views overlooking Balgray Reservoir as part of a 2km active travel path connecting Barrhead and Newton Mearns to and through Dams to Darnley Country Park and providing a safe link for walking and cycling
• Create a long-awaited 4km circular walking and cycling route around Balgray Reservoir for park visitors for the first time
• Pave the way for new visitor facilities at Dams to Darnley Country Park

The ambitious £22.68 million project will be funded through the Glasgow City Region City Deal with investments from UK & Scottish governments, Transport Scotland through Sustrans Places for Everyone programme, the Scottish Government’s Bridge Fund and developer contributions.

We'll arrange this with you around 2 weeks before your wedding. It's an opportunity for you to tell us all about your VIP's likes and dislikes, and for us to make sure we have everything right for your wedding day.
