Vicky qualified in 2010 at the Royal Veterinary College with a First-class BSc (Hons) degree and has love animals ever since!

She has pets of her own Suede & Lace which are two dogs and a rabbit called narla🐰🐶
In her spare time she loves to take part in amateur dramatics🎭
If you see Vicky in practice make sure to say hi!

Good Afternoon,
With Bonfire night fast approaching, we have had a lot of requests for medication for your animals🐶

As we will always try our best to prescribe something to help them relax, it is sometimes not possible. If your pet has NOT been seen for 12 months by a Vet or has NOT had medication for fireworks before, then you will need to book a Vet check!
It is a legal requirement for a Vet to have seen an animal within 12 months to prescribe any prescription medications.

Here are a few ways you can help relax your pet at home❤️
•Create them a safe/comfortable space.
•Keep the Tv/Radio on.
•Play with your pets to distract them.
•Ensure your pet is microchipped, and details are up to date.
•Use a pheromone plug in diffuser.
• Stay close to your pet for reassurance.

We have had a white, tan and brown female middle aged cat brought into us today this AM. Unfortunately, she had already passed away when found.
She is microchipped however the number isn’t recognized on any data base.

Today we had a slightly different type of visitor here at Alexander Vets... This morning our RVN's took skin scrapes from a very compliant patient and upon microscopic examination, discovered a parasite named Demodex. Variations of this mite can be found on dogs, cats and even on the eyelashes of humans! Symptoms may include dry and scaly skin, hair loss, skin redness and itchiness. While patients with Demodex can never totally be rid of these mites, they can supress the numbers and symptoms significantly with the use of anti-parasitic medications. This is one of many reasons why it is crucial for owners to keep up to date with their monthly anti-parasitic medications.
