About Thistly Tails
Hello! I’m Jordan, owner of Thistly Tails.
From as far as I can remember, I’ve always been into animals. I started studying Animal Science at University in 2011 and after graduating, continued to further my knowledge and experience in the real world. I’ve dedicated a great deal of time to caring for animals in both a personal and professional capacity.
In addition to various voluntary roles, I’ve been an Intern Zookeeper, Veterinary Care Assistant and most recently worked as Animal Warden for a local authority in the South West, working with animals (and people) in a variety of ways. From reuniting and re-homing stray dogs, from responding to welfare complaints to enforcing animal legislation.
As Animal Warden, dealing with stray and often difficult dogs, I’ve been equipped with a deeper understanding of dog behaviour and body language. My years of work in the industry have given me the privilege of handling and experiencing many different species, from domestic animals such as chickens to the more exotic, lemurs!
