Scent Work Activities for All Dogs! Mantrailing & Scent Detection Training.

Cooper & Co: Doglaw is coming to Hull. Sarah has attended a Dog Law Seminar and it was very informative. Good for anyone, whether you are a dog owner or a professional (walker, groomer, sitter, rescue, dog trainer). Up-to-date information, you will come away with more than your moneys worth & a bucketful of knowledge 😊

MORE DATES ADDED : Now that Spring has arrived, Doglaw specialist Solicitor Trevor Cooper is going back on the road with even more dates + venues of his c.3.5 hr talk on "Doglaw: What every dog owner needs to know". The map below shows how far and wide Trevor is travelling throughout England & Wales at weekends. Many more dates have been added since we last posted the schedule.
The seminars are aimed at being informative as well as entertaining, so be prepared to have a giggle. No prior legal knowledge is required and so are likely to be useful to both owners as well as professionals, as it will give you an overview of the main civil and criminal laws that impact on dogs, their owners and their keepers.
Even if you've been before, come along to see what changes there have been (including to Trevor's hair!?!) and to refresh your knowledge. A Certificate of Attendance will be supplied as a pdf. The price remains unchanged at £20 per person which we like to think represents amazing value for money.

Thank you K9 Behaviour Consultancy for the 1-2-1 sessions this morning. We had good weather 🌤, all the dogs 🐕‍🦺 worked very hard, noses 🐽 working on cue with many distractions and a new environment 🚜 for them all.

Sarah had a great day over the weekend adding more information to her tool box, the stinky stuff in detection work 'odour'. The information will not only aid her in her own detection work but also for others when teaching. 🐶🐽
It was also a day of catching up with so many other detection geeks 🤓😊

We had a lovely day hosting K9 Behaviour Consultancy in Lincoln for a Scent Detection Workshop. All teams worked really well with different goals and everyone going away with ideas and things to work on ready for the next session.
Even our very own Buzz got to do some searching and brain storming on training for us to work on.

Sarah & her team are hoping to attend this Scent Camp in 2024. It should be a weekend of all things Scent, fun, laughter & a social with like minded, scent crazy enthusiasts.

Another fantastic day at the amazing South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum ✈️ 🚁 a huge thank you to them for allowing us to use the area.
Good weather 🌤, great teams 🐶💁🏼‍♀️ working very hard, having fun and learning along the way. Well done to everyone who worked their dogs today. You all did an amazing job and your hard work of training just showed with how well the dogs worked today.
Big thank you to Detection Training UK and his assistant for coming to instruct this weekend. We hope you enjoyed it as much as everyone else. 😁

It was Train the Trainer day with Mark Doggett on our favourite activity Scent Detection Work. Today everyone was furthering their learning on problem solving when it comes to their dogs and everyone's elses and in a teaching environments. All teams did amazing with it bring a live venue.
Big thank you to South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum for enabling us to search a fantastic museum. 😁🐶🐽✈️

This semi-long weekend Sarah was conducting training herself, with her lovely canine assistant Buzz https://instagram.com/buzz_blind_spanner?igshid=ZDdkNTZiNTM= They attended the Trainer 4 Trainers with Ace Tails Scentwork who was hosting Mark Doggett. Both theory & practical was provided with lots of helpful information to come away with, especially for educating other Sniff & Search Teams. They also attended The National Nosework Association Team of the Year 2022, where they got to conduct some fun but challenging searches & see many amazing teams take home some awards. 🏆🎉🐶😁

Mantrailing is a fun activity you can do with your canine companion. These teams had a fun session last week finding "missing people", going off trail to locate them and receive their reward. The area provided us with plenty of space & hiding spots so the dogs could trail off paths, and conduct a few longer trails to really enable them to use their nose and work hard. These Teams did amazing! Sniff & Search Team enjoying enrichment, training with plenty of napping and rest periods while chilling in the cool on these hot days.

Buzz & Sarah had a good 5 days away on the The UK College Of Scent Dogs Ltd Dog Handler Course. It was a very informative course with theory and practical elements. Working as a Team as well as with the other handlers. Laying tracks for each other and watching other dogs work. Buzzs training was a little different but he has a lot to work on ready for the next course. If you fancy having a go at tracking yourself then get in touch with Sarah or the UKCSD who provide a number of fantastic courses available.

Due to the lovely Eunice (NOT!) doing her thing outside and limiting us to the outside world. To keep you both occupied and not going insane, how about trying something new together with your dog and have some fun while Eunice cracks on. O&X's against your dog. ☺️
