Here's Charlotte who joined our Vet Tech & TB Testing team in June this year. She's hit the ground running and is already out on calf routines and on her way to qualifying as a tester!

Heather is our Practice Manager, she makes sure the team and clients are well looked after, following up on feedback and always looking to improve the practice. Outside the office, Heather is working on her own Grand Designs project converting a pub into a house! She enjoys adventuring in her camper van, hiking, and can even be found fishing (trying to get her hands on the infamous trophy for the familyโs annual competition!).
Get to know Alun
โญ Get to know the team โญ
Meet Alun, one of our senior vets. As an ironman, Alun isn't shy of hard work, keeping your cows well-oiled and running smoothly.
To complement the existing bovine advanced breeding service on offer, Alun's starting a new venture at the practice with sheep ET and AI work and would be keen to learn of any interest.
Give him a call ๐ 07850 326 432.

This week we've got Hannah Taylor chatting about her role at LLM.
If you need support with your farm assurance visit, government funding you could access, or anything milk contract-related, Hannah's the one to ask.
Our well-being champion is always making sure we're having fun at work and that we all feel valued and motivated ๐

Up next we have Emily, our Vet Tech Manager. You might see Em out on farm at routine calf visits, herd vaccines, or mobility scoring, but this is just a part of her work at LLM. Emily lives and breaths farming, she's passionate about delivering exceptional service and is constantly helping to make improvements on farms and within the business to ensure we're doing the most we can to maximize animal health and productivity!
Fun facts - Emily spoke at the House of Lords representing UK Vet Techs, she can down a pint of milk in 6 seconds and once swam with Olympic swimmers!
Knockdown Disbuds
Stress-free disbuds! ๐ฎ
Vet Tech Molly and Vet Sarah completed a batch of knock-down disbuds and castrates at a calf-rearing unit last week.
๐ค Using sedation requires less physical restraint which is less stressful. This makes it a more positive experience for the calf and has less of an impact on growth rates.
Other routine procedures can be carried out at the same time, such as spare teat removals or castrations.
Contact the practice to book an appointment or to find out more! ๐

Meet Hannah Camassa, one of our vets. Hannah has a great sense of humour, has a calming influence around the office, and can make light of difficult situations. Outside of work she enjoys trail running with one of her three dogs Seren and enjoying her Italian husband's delicious cooking.
Fun fact - Hannah survived being hit by a bus! ๐

This week we've got Chris, king of the dad joke, talking about our foot-trimming service.
When Chris isn't on farm, you'll find him camping in the hills (in his campervan which is available to hire!). Fun fact - Chris doesn't own a TV!!!!

Introducing Lucy, aka Practice Pharmacy Princess ๐ธ๐ผ
When she isn't being mobbed by the pack of practice dogs wanting treats and cuddles, you'll find Lucy keeping the shelves full of medicines for your orders and ensuring the vets have the right stock to treat your animals.

Flies
We definitely havenโt seen any dry weather yet, but with longer days and warmer temperatures, the flies are out in force! ๐ฆ๏ธ๐ชฐ
Speak to your vet or tech to make sure youโve got a control plan in place for the coming season.

Still clearing up the pancakes from yesterday ๐
Bacteria
Did you know - alongside bacteria and fungi, there are up to 1 million protozoa in every ml of rumen fluid! They can be seen swimming under the microscope in this sample of rumen fluid taken on-farm this week.
A healthy rumen microbiome is essential for a healthy cow, as if it becomes unbalanced it may result in rumen acidosis. This may be seen as unexplained diarrhoea, a decrease in body condition, and reduced milk yield among other signs. If you're worried about acidosis in your cattle get in contact with us today!
