As many of you may know, in April this year, a fire in an adjacent building affected Southfields, leading us to temporarily close for essential repairs. We are deeply grateful for your patience and support during this challenging time.

We are thrilled to announce that we are now fully reopened and dedicated to providing the highest standards of veterinary care once again. 💙

In this video, our team members share their personal stories and reflections from the event in April.

👂 Hopefully, you’ve heard – Southfields is now re-open!

Last week, ahead of our re-opening, we carried out a test run to ensure that everything would run smoothly when we opened our doors again. You might notice that our patients that day looked a little bit… unusual 🐼

It was a fun day with friends and family invited along, as well as an ice cream van and a coffee bike. It was also a significant step in making sure we were fully prepared to be able to offer the highest standards of veterinary care again.

PS: Paul the Panda made a swift recovery and is now back at home with his loving family 💙

Yesterday was International Cat Day and we're now on the lookout for feline superheroes 🐱🦸

Could your pet be who we've been looking for? 👀

Just as in human medicine, vets rely on pet blood donations to ensure a readily available supply of safe blood products for pets who need transfusions or for use in emergency care 🩸

We are urgently looking to recruit more cat blood donors to help save pets' lives.

You can find out more about eligibility criteria and the pet blood donation process here >> https://ow.ly/w7sM50SUFv8

Even if your pet isn't eligible to donate, but you have a pet blood transfusion success story, we'd love for you to share it with us in the comments below 👇

Motivating the next generation of veterinary neurologists! 💪🧠

Last week, Ane Uriarte, our Head of Neurology, was invited to the University of Cambridge Queen's Veterinary School Hospital, QVSH to present several lectures as part of a teaching day for students and junior staff.

Ane delivered lectures on brain surgery and ran a training session for those in attendance. She was joined by some of the other members of our Neurology team, who also benefited from hearing Ane’s presentations.

💬 “It was a fun-filled day of neurosurgery, sharing knowledge and best practice to improve the quality of care for patients, today and tomorrow.”

Recently, we held our all-Associate "wellbeing and mental health day."

It was a day filled with meaningful discussions, training sessions, and insightful presentations about mental health. We also enjoyed fun activities like bingo, a picnic, yoga, kitten time, and a lively pub quiz.

Congratulations to the winning team! This day was not only enjoyable but also highlighted the importance of caring for our team's health and wellbeing.

It reaffirmed that we are focused on the right priorities and have a team that deeply cares for each other.

We were privileged to meet with the courageous firefighters from Basildon Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, whose swift actions and unwavering support were instrumental in our recovery at Southfields Veterinary Specialists.

Our Hospital Director, Daniel Hogan, shares his gratitude: "To have the first firefighter on the scene say that my team behaved and conducted themselves in a way that contributed to saving lives and that they did everything they were supposed to do made me the proudest I have ever been of my team."

A heartfelt appreciation to everyone at Linnaeus Veterinary and Mars Veterinary Health for your unwavering support, during these challenging times.
