Pensdell Equestrian We offer DIY and 5 day part livery. Julia coaches to increase confidence in both the horse and rider.

She specialises in enabling the rider to work on their own, building on what they have learnt in their lessons. Julia is a BHS Accredited Professional Coach (Stage 4 Teach & Stage 4 Care and Management & BHSAI), a Centre 10 Advanced Coach and is fully insured. As well as coaching you on your horse Julia offers 'out of the saddle' training. Looking at various subjects - goal setting, confidence, f

ocus, visualisation etc. These enable you to spend time thinking about any challenges you have, when riding, without the horse being involved!

Rob does all the hard work - replacing fencing, harrowing, maintaining the school etc. We'd struggle to cope without him!

I am an independent bit fitter, so carry various brands. I do not carry stock so if you feel that the bit works, for you, I will tell you the brand/type/size and you can source it yourself. I always advise using a bit bank if the bit is expensive.
What will a visit include?
1. I will feel how comfortable your horse is around their head
2. Assess the mouth conformation
3. Assess your current bridle fit
4. Watch you ride in your current bridle and bit.
5. We try some bits and see how you and your horse feel (choice dependent on No 4)
6. I write up what we have discussed/ tried and what the bit is that has made a difference
I am an experienced coach; I am not a bit fitting expert, yet! So initially not charging full price for an assessment. Prices are reduced for until 31st January 2025.
Prices start at £35 for an assessment. Cheaper if more than 1 at a yard.
Also happy to give talks to Riding/Pony club and other groups

Our Story

Julia and Rob took over Pensdell Equestrian in December 2013

Julia coaches to increase confidence in both the horse and rider. She specialises in enabling the rider to work on their own, building on what they have learnt in their lessons. She also offers training towards BHS exams and Challenge Awards.

Having produced horses placed at HOYS, been a yard manager for an international three day event rider and for an Olympic dressage rider, Julia also has a lot of experience backing and bringing on youngsters and re-schooling older horses.

Julia is a BHS Accredited Professional Coach (BHSAI, Stage 4 Teach & Stage 4 Care and Management) and is fully insured.
