“I don’t want a world be**er, just a happy hack,
but they must also go alone, and ride happily front or back.”

“I don’t want to show or compete, I mostly ride around the lanes,
but It must be bombproof in every way so I can ride with relaxed reins.”

“I’m not as brave as I used to be so a confidence giver a must,
I had an accident previously so they must earn back my trust.”

“I plan to teach my children to ride within the coming year,
so a mother / daughter share type that will step up or down a gear.”

“They must be sane in open spaces, not buck, rear, spook or bolt,
I love to canter up the hills but they must come back to halt.”

“I love to ride through woodlands and jump the fallen logs,
so they must be honest, and not refuse, as I can’t risk falling off.”

“They must be safe in heavy traffic, on fast and busy roads,
and they must be good with tractors;
in our village we meet loads.”

“Must be good to shoe / load / clip and love to cuddle and fuss,
a ‘dope on a rope’ that doesn’t pull and won’t sn**ch for the grass.”

“They must be kind and gentle, and generally ‘easy to do’,
as some days I won’t be there so my parents will handle them too.”

“I don’t have a yard or a stable, just a lovely paddock to graze,
so need a ‘hardy type’ to live out all year
and cope with winter days.”

“They won’t be working hard, but they still must pass a vetting,
I need to be reassured a sound and healthy horse im getting.”

“I don’t want a world be**er, I’m just a novice you see,
I only want a happy hacker, but they must look after me.”

“I don’t want a world be**er, and my pockets are not deep,
I only want a happy hacker, so will only buy them cheap.”

Now…
what you need to realise is that the qualities you request,
from a half tonne fight or flight mammal,
will put them to the test.

To carry you through wind and rain,
On busy roads and over all terrain,
Have tolerance and patience, forgiving your mistakes,
With a bond so strong that never breaks,
With power and strength which they do not display,
As they gift you leadership day after day,
Under tunnels, over bridges, children screaming in the park,
Through the farm past pigs and cattle and fearsome dogs that chase and bark.
They face fears head on and do not react,
With all their heart and purpose they protect you on their back,
With unwavering loyalty, against all natural instinct,
Their aim to please and want to succeed in keeping your minds in sync.

Their training may not be fancy with professionals aboard,
but all those miles spent seeing the world are worth just so much more.

Most horses can jump and dance (Some just possess more skill)
but rarely they venture beyond their world, and express not fear nor thrill.

Their value doesn’t come from bloodlines,
or winning gold or red,
a temperament that remains unmatched,
can’t be trained or bred.

So you don’t want a world be**er, just a happy hack,
but one that gives so much and asks for very little back,
whether big or only small, however young or old,
that ‘just a happy hacker’ is worth their weight in gold 🌟

For anybody following our post last night (2 truths and a lie)

🍿👀

Yes, the fog is fake 💨

We spent all day filming at pinewood studios and featured for a whole 4 seconds! Who knew the director would be so strict about the horses - they just wouldn’t stay ‘in place’ and we had to scoops of pony nuts down to stop them from running around!

What you can’t see in the movie is us hiding in the bushes 🌳 laughing our heads off from the director shouting at us “we can still see you!!! LAY DOWN” 😂😂

🌟Just for Fun🌟
2 truths and 1 lie - which is the lie?

1) we have provided horses for film, the first photo was taken ‘on set’. The fog pictured is fake made from a smoke machine🍿

2) we have a pet Emu - his name is ‘E-moo’.

3) we aren’t the first horse ‘dealers’ in our family. Trinas mum (nanny Joyce) used to produce and sell IDs and ‘hunters’.

Welcome to ask questions to catch us out on the lie (please don’t answer if you know 😂)

We receive numerous enquiries on a daily basis from people in search of their perfect horse or pony!

All too often we hear “sounds perfect, BUT….;
Too old / too young,
Too big / too small,
Don’t want a grey,
Don’t want a mare”…. Etc etc…

We fully respect those enquiring being fully transparent with their wants and needs and appreciate those not wasting anybody’s time viewing something thats not atall suitable….. however, I do wonder how often we really do find ‘the one’ that ticks every box ✅

I’d be interested to hear your experience of what you wanted vs what you bought?
And what compromises you made, if any?

I feel this may be a helpful topic for those currently in the market x

So….

We did explain in Rubys last video that she had an ‘easy week’ and this is why… we noticed her shape becoming suspiciously round, and with the presence of a ‘milk vein’ and knowing she had a foal weaned off of her earlier this year we were concerned (and convinced) she may be in foal again!

We called our stud vet to confirm either way so we could move on accordingly…

No foal - just round 🤣 (sorry Ruby) this was obviously the best outcome for Ruby and we feel far more reassured now when it comes to her workload!

Buttons 🖤
14.1hh 10years mare
Same home most of her life
She has been a pampered field pet to date
Unbroken due to lack of time with young children (hence sale)

Look forward to getting her backed and riding away! For now, she’s VERY hairy and desperately needs a clip! She went out in hand today, only 45 minutes walking, and is still damp from sweating so really hope we can get the clippers through her coat…

Will be more info / photos / videos tomorrow…. 👀

Such a bittersweet day for us, our Nelly is going to join her new family 🤎

We are sad to see her go and there will be tears our end but we know it was the right decision with her best interest at heart and what a wonderful turn of events which has made this happen for her!

Does anybody remember Max?
We bought a stunning little pony January 2024 - he was green and his little riders didn’t have any interest so he was without a job!

We bought him and produced him and sold him to the perfect family where he has proven over the past year to be a saint of a children’s pony 😇

Max’s young mummy had quickly outgrown him but they couldnt let him go - until his previous owners expressed an interest in having him back! So max has now gone ‘back home’ to his original owner as a proven kids pony to show his previous young riders everything he has learnt over the past year - We are so happy for Max!

This has allowed for Nelly to join their family as the next size up - replacing one perfect pony for another slightly bigger perfect pony!

It was meant to be!

It’s so reassuring for us to know that Nelly is in good hands with her new family as they have done a wonderful with Max!

Good luck in your new home Nell we will miss you but are excited to follow your adventures 🤎
