Piixie enjoyed her Laser Therapy session with our vet Ailsa today. Ailsa runs a pain management clinic on a Wednesday at ARC to include acupuncture, laser therapy and medical pain management appointments. Having these therapies work well In conjunction with hydrotherapy as it helps to release tight muscles, increase blood flow and reduces pain. If you would like more information on these services email us at [email protected] ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’œ

What better way to start a hot Monday morning than in cool water with this happy chappy!
Rolo has been seen by all of our services, Physiotherapy, Hydrotherapy, Acupuncture and Laser to help keep him as mobile as possible as he reaches his older years.
A Multidisciplinary approach to his treatment has worked wonders for him and he means he can still play like a puppy at the age of 12! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Today it's UK . It doesn't take a specific national day, we know we think about them everyday but on this day, take an extra two minutes to know you're never alone in grieving for a pet, an extra two minutes to laugh at a great memory, to cry a little harder and to take extra care of yourself and those around you ๐Ÿ’œ Feel free to comment remembering your pets

Living with grief is something everyone experiences, be it pet or human, and this is a great graphic to demonstrate the process of moving forward WITH grief. Everyone's experience will be unique, be kind! ๐Ÿ’œ

MOVING FORWARD, NOT MOVING ON

โ€œMoving forwardโ€ or โ€œmoving onโ€. They sound like such similar phrases, donโ€™t they? But in the context of grief the difference between โ€œonโ€ or โ€œforwardโ€ is huge.

When youโ€™re grieving for a precious pet โ€“ or indeed a person who you love โ€“ people will often say things like, โ€œIsnโ€™t it time you moved on?โ€ or โ€œYouโ€™ll move on eventuallyโ€ or even, โ€œIโ€™m glad to see youโ€™ve moved onโ€.

But the idea of moving on from a loved one can be incredibly distressing.

Moving on implies leaving something behind. It suggests that the animal, for example, was a moment or place that you can put behind you when, in fact, he or she was a member of your family and youโ€™ll never get over that loss โ€“ not in the way that moving on implies, anyway.

So very, very true. I find pet owners are very supportive to each others grief, and would like to see a day where employers and other settings acknowledge the grief over the loss of a beloved pet and treat it in the same regard as the loss of a beloved human life ๐Ÿ’œ

**FIRST APPOINTMENT ALERT** It is only right that our first post is about my first acupuncture appointment, with Jiggy! She's an older St Bernard with creaky joints who is benefitting from both acupuncture and laser therapy! She barely fits in the consulting room, let alone the camera frame, but posed beautifully for some pics anyway ๐Ÿ˜Š
