Living with grief is something everyone experiences, be it pet or human, and this is a great graphic to demonstrate the process of moving forward WITH grief. Everyone's experience will be unique, be kind! ๐
MOVING FORWARD, NOT MOVING ON
โMoving forwardโ or โmoving onโ. They sound like such similar phrases, donโt they? But in the context of grief the difference between โonโ or โforwardโ is huge.
When youโre grieving for a precious pet โ or indeed a person who you love โ people will often say things like, โIsnโt it time you moved on?โ or โYouโll move on eventuallyโ or even, โIโm glad to see youโve moved onโ.
But the idea of moving on from a loved one can be incredibly distressing.
Moving on implies leaving something behind. It suggests that the animal, for example, was a moment or place that you can put behind you when, in fact, he or she was a member of your family and youโll never get over that loss โ not in the way that moving on implies, anyway.
