Are you looking to travel abroad with your pet this summer? If you are, you will be required to obtain an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for them.
An AHC needs to be issued by an Official Veterinarian (OV). Check with your veterinary practice to see if they have a qualified OV because not every practice will have one.

National Smile Month
The month of May is officially National Smile Month, which we consider to be the perfect time to share joy and positivity and show off those pearly whites. Keeping teeth in tip-top condition is not just important for humans, but for pets too, and that’s why our trained vets and nurses offer full dental checks at our practices. We recommend pets have regular dental check ups to prevent diseases that can otherwise be difficult to detect at home.

Today is National Hairball Awareness Day! Many of our feline friends will bring up a cat hairball (fur ball) at some stage in their lives.
The odd hairball is to be expected, especially during moulting season in long-furred felines. However, hairballs can sometimes indicate an underlying issue and are something we should be paying attention to.

With the new cat microchipping legislation in England coming in on 10 June 2024, if a have a new kitten, you may be wondering when you would need to get them microchipped by. 🐱🐾

All cats need to microchipped by the time they are 20 weeks of age, this could be done during their neutering procedure so it can be placed easily and they do not feel it.

Give your local vet practice a call to book your cat in for an appointment for microchipping and to find out more about microchipping your cat: vetcollection.co.uk/health/microchipping-cats
