Covid 19 update:

Unfortunately I will be temporarily closing The Dog Yard due to recent amendments to government guidelines within our industry.

As of 12th January 2021
‘Groomers may accept a dog to be groomed by appointment where this is necessary for the animal’s welfare and not simply for aesthetic reasons. Welfare reasons could include on veterinary advice for a skin condition or excessive matting causing the pet discomfort. When routine grooming can be delayed without affecting the pet’s welfare until the national lockdown is eased it should be put off.’

I will be contacting you if you have an appointment booked in the next few weeks to assess your dogs individual needs or to postpone until it is safe to re open.

Hi everyone

Hope this post finds you all safe and well

I’m going to be reopening the salon on Monday 11th May but with a limited capacity for the foreseeable future. My priority is to keep everyone safe so this means I will need to reduce the number of dogs I can safely groom in a day. I will contact you directly with appointments and to discuss any concerns you may have. Please bear with me as there are a lot of dogs that have missed their appointments, I will get to you all as soon as I can.

If you or anyone in your family are unwell please do not bring your dog to be groomed.

Could I please ask the everyone arrives on time for drop off and collection, this is more important than ever to protect everyone, if you are late I may not be able to groom your dog but you may still incur a charge. Please also notify me as soon as possible if you are unable to make the appointment as I may be able to offer this to someone else.

A few measures that will be in place......

The salon will be fully disinfected and equipment sterilised in between each dog. Please text me on arrival but remain in the car until I contact you.

Come to the side entrance as usual where I will meet you from a safe distance. Please do not ring the bell.

All collars, leads and harnesses to be removed by the owner. I will use a slip lead (if need be!) to bring your dog inside.

No one is allowed to enter the salon. If you are concerned by any of these measures or wish to discuss your dogs groom please email/call or text me the day before.

Payment is to be made via bank transfer where possible. If you wish to pay by cash please place it in a sealed plastic bag or envelope.

When you arrive back to collect your dog please text me from the car and I will bring your dog to the gate.

Looking forward to seeing all your VERY fluffy dogs again!!! 🐶💕🐾

Just a quick update...

Following on from announcements this week The Dog Yard will remain closed for at least 3 more weeks.

Please stay safe, brush your dogs as much as possible and for those who have purchased clippers and had a go themselves don’t worry I can soon sort your dog out!!! 😁

Dylan and Dora were very much enjoying the lock down everyone's home, long walk and lots if cuddles, then they remembered mum's a groomer and we are the only dogs she can groom at the moment. Bad luck guys, but you look and smell gorgeous 😊

I will be looking at the diary over the next few days working out gaps to slot those cancelled appointments into, I will also open on Saturdays if need be to get all your dogs back up to speed and summer ready. 🐶

B**A would like to confirm that:
• dog grooming is a NON essential business
• all grooming businesses should now be CLOSED and remain so until further government instruction (revised in 3 weeks)
• you should follow ALL government advice

This is the toughest time the country has ever known in modern times. We feel worried for our businesses and families. The remit is clear however and if we all do our best it will hopefully be over sooner rather than later.
STAY HOME. STAY SAFE. PROTECT THE NHS.

Groomers we will all come through this. We are strong and will support each other. Use this time to breathe, rest and spend time with your family.
Oh - and maybe groom your own dogs 😊

Following on from the Prime minister’s statement I will be closing from this evening.

Thank you all for your support and understanding, stay safe and give your gorgeous dogs a big hug from me, I will be waiting in a few weeks time to clip some very hairy dogs!! If anyone needs any advice to keep your dog mat free please feel free to email or call me.

Just a quick update....
I am still grooming but have put in place a few new procedures.

Please come to the side gate as usual, I will collect your dog from there and will hand your dog back at the gate.

Please remove your dogs collar and lead at the gate and I will swap it with mine which will be uv sterilised in between each dog.

During this period I will only be taking payment via bank transfer, details will be sent via text the day before.

If you or anyone in your family is unwell please do not bring your dog to be groomed.

If I or anyone in my family is unwell I will close for the required period.

I will continue to update via Facebook but please feel free to text or email.

Please stay safe everyone, don’t worry if you have to cancel, your dog may end up a bit hairy but it can soon be sorted!!
