Fire Dragons Flyball Club. Would like to thank Quantum Leap Flyball Team for coming and joining us this morning for a joint training session. It was great practice for our dogs to run with strange dogs in the other lane. Hope to do it again soon.

Its late. But a big thank you to WVF all our judges and ring party. Firedragons had a blast!

On Saturday 8th January Firedragons travelled all ther way down the M3 to play flyball at a comp hosted by Jets Flyball Team . It can honestly be said we had a fabulous time. With 3 dogs debuting in League, Willow, Poppy and Nyx, two league teams, sin in LL singles and less teamies than usual plus Jon and Louise Judging it was a tad busy. Fortified by ice-cream and a excellent atmosphere we had an awesome time. Our debuting dogs mostly remembered what to do, ably supported by the experienced members of the team we had lots of personal wins. Sin was clean all day and took first place. Lovely rosettes and Licki mat prizes. Very welcome judges gifts ❤ With a 2 hour journey both ways it was a long day for some. Next time we will all camp..

Fire Dragons had an awesome weekend at Quantum leap Mania this weekend. Very busy on Saturday with 5 Little league singles. All dogs did well showing lots of progression and we gained some placings with Frankie coming first in her division and Nyx and Sin gaining a Second and third respectively in theirs. Unicorns gained a well deserved second. No placings this time for tesm Dragons and we have some niggles to sort out before our next comp. Our box loaders were awesome as usual with young Florence stepping in to box load for unicorns at a comp for the first time. Our captain did lots of Judging over both days, including the crufts qualifier on Sunday! The video is a round up of our weekend including the beautiful sky Friday night and the very silly Saturday night.

This weekend Firedragons attended their First outdoor comp of the year at Ardingly. Hosted by All 4 One Flyball team . The weather was interesting! High winds and a tad soggy underfoot. But we still has a fantastic time meeting up with our flyball family, getting to know some new additions and having fun in and around the lanes with some very competitive racing. On Saturday FireGriffin - Betsy, Biscuit, Lilo and Nashi- and , LL Fire Squibs- Poppy, Frankie, Cooper, Willow and Chaos came first in their divisions. On Sunday pairs Biscuit and Jess came 1st and LL pairs Sin and Barley managed a respectful second. It was Nyx's first time in a competition setting, in LL pairs with Chaos, showed she has phenomenal drive but thought the ball was optional and Chaos was his usual awesome self. Our team captain Judged for both days- a first since her recovery- only achievable due to the support of her team 🧡 All in all a fabulous weekend🥳 and we won't mention the raffle 🤣

Thank you Ellen Schofield and Cambridgeshire Flyball Club We had a lovely day today, what a way to end the year. Improvements and ideas for Jacko , Jenson ran like a pro he is only oopsing when people were in the wrong place. Daisy ran lovely all day, we won't talk about Zac's starts. Nashi got a third despite Lucas's terrible timing and Hector and biscuit ran their little and big paws off, with only 1 mistake (an early my fault) got a 2nd. Hector gained the teacher dog award, from Abbie Mellor, for his help in aiding my recovery.
A very emotional day for Fire dragons team captain as at the grand Old age of 10, today Hector ran his last league race. He loves flyball but its time he passed on his grrr power to a younger generation ❤

Today was our last training session for 2023. Some are off to Horseley Fen on NYE . With new dogs coming through and our League dogs really working well I can't wait to see what 2024 brings. Fire Dragons Flyball Club. Sends seasons greetings to all our friends and see you in the lanes soon.

Sin today got her shiny new pb 😱. Not a bad time for a dog who is still watching the other lane! All thanks to the whole team and Jon Thorpe who puts so much energy into her. With other awesome dogs already in the team and new ones getting ready to debut next year, 2024 should be a good one 🥳

Ukfl champs news. Back from the UKFL championships 2023.. News update. It was cold and wet and windy a far cry from last year. Congratulations to all those who attended and dealt with the incredibly long days. You are awesome and make Firedragons a very happy team to be around. A big thank you to my husband without who i couldn't judge run my dogs and remain standing over the 4 days and those that stepped up and ensured teams, dogs and people were in the right place at the right time. This year we followed the trend of last year and only ran outdoors. League teams- Dragons gained 3rd in Div 4. Unicorns 2nd div 7. Multibreed ( dogs racing have to be of different breeds, with xb counting as a breed) team Wyrms 3rd. Well done to all those dogs its not easy but they are gelling together. Watch this space for next years league racing! Ll singles willow did amazingly well bringing her ball back for Junior handler Esmae more times than she ever has for her own mum and dad, this partnership will continue. Poppy the rottie came first in her singles division, so proud if her and her dad 😍 sin and chaos came 3rd in LL pairs. Biscuit and Hector came 3rd in their mini maxi pairs. Nyx rocked her first PC slots on sunday and promptly came into season. Whilst I am so proud of all the adults and dogs, Lottie, Herbert, Oscar, Biscuit, Hector, Daisy, Nashi, Lilo, Poppy A, Poppy C, Willow, Sin, Nyx, Reggie, that attended its our juniors who were really awesome. Running dogs like pros and ensuring our lanes were got ready for racing promptly in our warm up time. Junior handler Megan deserves a special shout out as she box loaded for all 3 of our team dog entries and only her awesome skills ensured that we were placed 🧡🖤On a negative side, one of our juniors only went and broke his wrist yesterday afternoon, nothing to do with the dogs. We wish him a speedy recovery.

What a day! A massive thank you to Ellen and all of the team at Cambridgeshire Flyball Club for hosting today's brilliant racing.

We had 1 league team in with Lottie, Lilo, Nashi and a newbie rotating partnership of Daisy and Betsy. Some great racing and we came out with a first 🥇and a very respectable sub-21 time.

3 PC slots with Frankie building up her confidence around others and just her general enjoyment in the ring. Didn't see her stop wagging her tail! Poppy was up next showing everyone that Rottweiler's are perfectly happy to learn how to do a box turn...with lots of sausages at the end of it!! She also got the Inca award for the dog with best character 🥰 Lastly we had Oscar who attended for his first ever PC slot and absolutely nailed it! He's so willing and didn't skip a beat climbing our new board, which is like a mountain for him!
A great day helped out by our extended flyball family so thank you to Jess for box loading for us too!
We're looking forward to doing it all again in December!
