Fire Dragons flyball club is looking for you and your dog of course!
Flyball is a high energy, fun, team sport for dogs and their owners.
We are looking for fit and healthy dogs of all sizes, breeds and crossbreeds to attend our 6-week starter training course commencing in September.
The type of dogs that enjoy flyball the most are those with lots of energy and enjoy doing things with you. They don’t need to be obsessed with a ball, but it helps if they are food or toy motivated.
The sessions will last approximately 45mins and are suitable from dogs 8 months and upwards. Due to the nature of flyball and the learning involved there will be a limit on group size.
Sessions will cost £10 on the day or £50 if you sign up for all 6 sessions before you start. They will be held outside on a Saturday morning in Stotfold (SG5).
Please message me or the page https://www.facebook.com/FireDragonsFlyball for more information.

Flyball is one of the few dog sports where both people and dogs need to work as a team. One of the hardest roles in flyball is box loading. So a big shout out to all our box loaders over the 4 days. John, Kerry, Florence, Beckie, Lucas, Ryan. You were awesome.
We also need a lot of support from people who you may rarely see.
Jan, camp support for Louise and Lucas,, dog feeder, walker and tuggy queen for Nyx.
Toni, this weekend was recording times and child care in camp and around the ring.
Jude, peace keeper, camp councilor, sometime willow runner.
Louisa, Mum and support to 2 of our Juniors Esmae and Isla.
Abi, for staying on sunday night ( She hates camping) so she could help out on monday and running poppy when we were head to head on in MB
Chance Lucy for doing the paper work, getting up early for dog changes and trying to get us all running better passes.
Finally an enormous shout out to Zac, who ran his dogs, Poppy Rotti, Daisy Lab and willow Lab (in different combinations) Friday singles 2 dogs, Saturday league 1 dog, Sunday league 2 dogs in different teams , and Monday had dogs both multibreed teams. Plus he was first aider on Saturday! He really is a bit of a super man ❤️

Monday was Multibreed day. We had 2 teams in, Wryms- Biscuit (Valhund) Poppy (Rott), Jacko (xbreed) and Tilly (English springer span) Borrowed from All for one.
Banshee - Nashi (border collie) Daisy (Lab) Nyx (xbreed) and Poppy (English springer spaniel).
Both teams were running in just 1 division so at one point we had to race against ourselves! Thank you to Lucie Grant for box loading, and All 4 one for helping out on line, ball collecting etc. Unfortunately we had to go before the results but, Wyrms were totally out paced and were unplaced and Banshee came 3rd in a very fast division.

Sunday at UK Flyball League champs saw Fire Dragons and Fire Unicorns taking to the lanes. Unfortunately, due to family illness we were down a dog in each team but with a few tweaks and the movement of Jess from running Monday to Sunday in Dragons we were set to go. Both teams ran their hardest but Dragons, Jess, Lilo, Poppy (rottweiler)and Jacko, Just didn't have the speed needed for their division and came in a well deserved 3rd. Unicorns, Biscuit, Willow, Jenson, Poppy (Spaniel)had a few hiccups as Willow decided she could do the jumps or bring back her ball but not both 🤷‍♀️ . However, much to their delight they did sufficient to gain a 3rd place as well.

Saturday at UK Flyball League champion ships saw Fire Ravens bottom seed of 6 in Division 3 with a 4 dog team and Cooper debuting in to league team racing and us not having sufficient practice due to the weather 🌞⛈️ it was always going to be 'interesting! But wow Cooper and Florence smashed it from the start.. managing 16 out of 20 heats virtually paw perfect! We tried our best, pushing all the time. But the other teams were more polished and faster.. but watch this space.. Ravens will be flying again. 🔥 🐉

Fire Dragons Flyball Club. Friday Day 1 at the UK Flyball League . Individual dogs ran in outside league singles. Have to say, they smashed it!
Cooper only second time out in league and ran by Florence didn't get into the placings, but Cooper worked through some minor issues and got faster and faster.
Jacko and Poppy both running in Division 10 and with 8 clean heats each gained 1st and 2nd place with Jacko gaining 1st and Poppy 2nd based on time. Daisy running in Division 12 (replacing Betsy who couldn't join us) broke out 7 out of 8 heats and wasnt placed but zac and Daisy practiced his starts.
Nashi in Division 5 had 8 clean heats and gained first place on time.
Finally Nyx running in Division 1 gained a 2nd place.
As a team captain I was very proud of all our members, dogs and support crew. You were awesome.

Fire Dragons are really delighted to announce our sponsorship from Canine Dynamics Massage Therapy. Becky is currently looking after the dogs in team Ravens and is getting them race ready for the UKFL Championships at Lincolnshire in a couple of weeks. I'm not sure about race ready but Nashi thinks he is cuddle ready.

Fire Dragons Flyball Club. Had an awesome long weekend at Quantum mania hostel by Quantum Leap Flyball Team.
Our teams did exceptionally well on all 3 days, gaining first second and 3rd places in league racing , Saturday and Sunday. Cooper and Nashi were in the rosettes for singles as were Jacko and Jenson for pairs. As a team quantum always go above and beyond, so there were flamingos, awards for braking out and oopsies in the ring. Ring party gained trolly tokens and holders for taking part and box loaders had lovely little boxes. There were also little prizes for juniors doing positive work.
The Judges gifts were very personal and I absolutely love my orange dragon, note book and chocolate. My absolute favourite comp of the year. One request for next year, can you turn off the very cold wind !!
