Its late. But a big thank you to WVF all our judges and ring party. Firedragons had a blast!
On Saturday 8th January Firedragons travelled all ther way down the M3 to play flyball at a comp hosted by Jets Flyball Team . It can honestly be said we had a fabulous time. With 3 dogs debuting in League, Willow, Poppy and Nyx, two league teams, sin in LL singles and less teamies than usual plus Jon and Louise Judging it was a tad busy. Fortified by ice-cream and a excellent atmosphere we had an awesome time. Our debuting dogs mostly remembered what to do, ably supported by the experienced members of the team we had lots of personal wins. Sin was clean all day and took first place. Lovely rosettes and Licki mat prizes. Very welcome judges gifts ❤ With a 2 hour journey both ways it was a long day for some. Next time we will all camp..
Fire Dragons had an awesome weekend at Quantum leap Mania this weekend. Very busy on Saturday with 5 Little league singles. All dogs did well showing lots of progression and we gained some placings with Frankie coming first in her division and Nyx and Sin gaining a Second and third respectively in theirs. Unicorns gained a well deserved second. No placings this time for tesm Dragons and we have some niggles to sort out before our next comp. Our box loaders were awesome as usual with young Florence stepping in to box load for unicorns at a comp for the first time. Our captain did lots of Judging over both days, including the crufts qualifier on Sunday! The video is a round up of our weekend including the beautiful sky Friday night and the very silly Saturday night.
This weekend Firedragons attended their First outdoor comp of the year at Ardingly. Hosted by All 4 One Flyball team . The weather was interesting! High winds and a tad soggy underfoot. But we still has a fantastic time meeting up with our flyball family, getting to know some new additions and having fun in and around the lanes with some very competitive racing. On Saturday FireGriffin - Betsy, Biscuit, Lilo and Nashi- and , LL Fire Squibs- Poppy, Frankie, Cooper, Willow and Chaos came first in their divisions. On Sunday pairs Biscuit and Jess came 1st and LL pairs Sin and Barley managed a respectful second. It was Nyx's first time in a competition setting, in LL pairs with Chaos, showed she has phenomenal drive but thought the ball was optional and Chaos was his usual awesome self. Our team captain Judged for both days- a first since her recovery- only achievable due to the support of her team 🧡 All in all a fabulous weekend🥳 and we won't mention the raffle 🤣
Sin today got her shiny new pb 😱. Not a bad time for a dog who is still watching the other lane! All thanks to the whole team and Jon Thorpe who puts so much energy into her. With other awesome dogs already in the team and new ones getting ready to debut next year, 2024 should be a good one 🥳
We are racing in the far lane. Sin is running last.
Spent a lovely weekend at Newark showground hosted by Junkyard dogs playing flyball. Howling wind rain etc loads of laughter and a visit from Owen and Catherine plus Grandpup. Very proud of Lucas and dog Nashi who raced both days and really tried his best gaining his Cadet advanced badge and a second place on Saturday with pegasus. Hector was amazing as always, raced by Hannah. And finally Sin got to race when there were different teams in the ring with her. Apart from over excitement and recognising people she knew on the other team. She worked really well. Thank you Abi your energy matches hers..
Flyball training.
Over the last few weeks we have had a some new people and dogs join us. All are making lovely progress and deserve their own shout outs but for now here is one of our lovely young labs Betsy doing her first full runback.
Some fun drills.
Great training session today. All dogs working hard and progressing nicely. Lilio and Noski both have new pb's. Nashi carried his ball on full runs directly to Lucas. The ball to tug work is paying off. Nova and loki worked well as a pair.
Scout learning all about Jumps.
It was lovely to have part of our southern contingent, Joan with Noski and Scout, join us for training on Saturday. Scout did very well for his first time and I think we tired him out.
