We have decided it is time for the wonderful Jack to retire from the school. He is going back to his owner Debbie this week to spend his retirement relaxing and hacking around the fields in Suffolk. Jack came to us in 2018 and has been an amazing advanced school master, helping many riders to improve and develop their riding skills and he even got me out competing again! Jack has such a wonderful personality and has been a pleasure to work with every day. He will leave a big gap here on the yard but we are pleased to be retiring him while he is happy and well so he can enjoy a more relaxed life. We will miss you Jack and thank you for all your hard work and patience ❤️

We all had a great time in Jane Dawson's working equitation clinic on Sunday. Cayu found the cut out bull very scary at first but he got much braver as the session went on. Pop and Tally were both brilliant, managing all the obstacles like a pro. Katie and I are going to include some of the obstacles in our teaching sessions as they are great for improving suppleness, responsiveness and teamwork with your horse. Looking forward to the November clinic 🙂

There are a lot of road closures in our area today, which may also effect travel tomorrow. Please give yourself extra time to get here, let us know if you are held up and stay safe!

There might be a difficult commute ahead for some across the Borough due to flooding in places.

Before you travel, please be aware of a number of road closures and issues across the area

• Avoid Paula Radcliffe Way (A6) as it is closed both directions. Crews on route to clear as quickly as possible so we can reopen.
• High Street, Clapham is closed.
• Lovell Road, Clapham is closed.
• Mill Road Sharnbrook is closed.
• The A6 at Milton Ernest is passable with care due to surface water
• The A421 is currently closed between the A6 and Marston Moretaine.
• Harrold, Oakley, Felmersham and Radwell bridges are closed.

Please also be aware that Oakley Road, Bromham is closed due to emergency works by UK Power Networks.

Driving in heavy rain and flooding can be hazardous.

Firstly it is always advisable to consider before you set off whether your journey is essential. If not, can it be delayed until after the rain has subsided?

If so then plan your journey in advance, taking care to avoid areas which are prone to flooding and factor in extra time to allow for slower speeds and potential congestion.

Do not walk or drive through flood water. Flood water may contain sewage and hide rubbish, wreckage, uneven roads and pavements or broken drain and manhole covers.

Be mindful that driving through flood water can negatively impact neighbouring properties.

Don’t remove road closure signs. The signs are there for your safety.

Paris 2024 was amazing! We visited lots of areas in Paris and watched wonderful dressage in the stunning surrounds of Versailles. We saw the GB women's hockey team win their match and celebrated a win in the football 1/4 finals with the mad Morocco football fans! It was very hot, we walked miles, enjoyed great coffee and patisseries and loved the whole experience. Back to normal life now, feeling inspired by all the talented Olympic athletes and enjoying the rest of the Olympics on the TV.

NEW SUNDAY WORKSHOPS
From 18th August, Beth we will be offering two monthly workshops at Thurleigh Equestrian Centre for riders on their own horses or on one of our school horses.

Each monthly workshop will look at a different aspects of confidence and partnership building, so you can attend just one date or come along and join us each month, it is up to you.

£95.00 per session including a day stable for your horse.

🐴Confidence Boosting Workshops: 10.30am- 3.00pm

The monthly confidence boosting workshop is specifically designed to help you if you are struggling with confidence issues or you want to boost your confidence. Whether you are having a confidence crisis, trouble just getting on, or whether you are finding other aspects of riding too challenging at home we are here to help!

The monthly positive partnership workshop is focused on developing harmony and a positive partnership with your horse. You will learn to listen to their feedback and to establish a true connection and bond, along with having fun with your horse and learning new skills.

These workshops will be a mixture of ground work, group discussion sessions and ridden work, using tailored coaching that focuses on developing harmony and a positive partnership with your horse, establishing a true connection and bond along with having fun. They will be full of a variety of activities, giving you time to spend with your horse and other likeminded people.
