Part of your pets physiotherapy session may involve the use of blocks, wobble cushions or sensory matting. These work to support posture, weight placement, core stability, muscular engagement and proprioception.

Here Murphy is working hard to maintain square posture with his hind limbs on a slightly unstable balance board, strengthening his patella’s😁🐾

Did you know all therapists at House of Hydro hold qualifications in Advanced Underwater Treadmill Techniques.
This allows us to utilise further equipment to support our patient’s conditions.

Here is Rupert who sees us for rehabilitation sessions to help strengthen his hips.
We are using thera bands to increase the resistance through his hind limbs, increasing joint range of motion through the hip, stifle and hock and therefore strengthening muscle groups🐾

Welcoming House of Hydro’s newest member Cuba, a 14wk old Maine C**n owned by Natasha.
Maine C**ns are known for their love of water and to have dog like tendencies. Cuba loved exploring the centre and we look forward to watching him grow and developing his water skills 😻💦

This is the lovely Delilah who has bilateral hip dysplasia.

Delilah is a Romanian rescue dog who has started hydrotherapy with us.
We have been slowly building her trust and her confidence is now growing within the centre.
She is making great progress and this week attended her first physiotherapy session after building her routine in our underwater treadmill 🐾💦

House of Hydro

House of Hydro has been brought about by a passion and belief in the benefits of Canine Hydrotherapy.Our aim is to enrich the life of every dog that enters House of Hydro.

Our purpose built 6m x 4m pool, has integrated ramps, both external and internal, together with a resting platform all of which are covered with anti-slip matting. The heated pool creates a relaxing and therapeutic environment for your dog to swim. This non-weight bearing exercise is captured by an underwater camera and displayed on our television screen allowing owners to see the full range of underwater motion of their dog. The recordings made can be shared with your vet if requested.

Here at House of Hydro your dog will be introduced to the water at their own pace and encouraged by the therapist and the owner to build up their confidence.

Buoyance aids and harnesses are provided and will be fitted correctly by the hydrotherapist. This ensures your dog’s experience within our centre is a positive and confident one.
