Hi everyone,

I’ve seen the post about a dog walker kicking a dog, and it seems some people are mistaking me for the person involved. I wanted to respond as the sole dog walker at Wixams Walks. At the time and location mentioned, I wasn’t walking any dogs, nor did I have a brown dog matching the description with me that day.

I take accusations like this very seriously because the trust of my clients and the well-being of the dogs in my care are my top priorities. Over the years, I’ve worked with many dogs who were initially nervous to leave mum and dad and coming on walks. After a week or two, these same dogs run to the van, excited to join me. That simply wouldn’t happen if I mistreated them in any way.

If anyone has concerns or would like to discuss this further, I’m more than happy to have a conversation to clear up any misunderstandings.

Sadly on Wednesday, we had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to our dear Cookie. He passed away peacefully, with us by his side, resting in his favorite spot on the sofa, just as he loved to do. Cookie was the most wonderful dog, always graciously sharing his home with the other four-legged visitors who stayed with us. We truly couldn’t have asked for a more loving companion.
We will miss you Cookie boy.

As the summer season approaches, I want to ensure the safety and well-being of your beloved pets during their walks. The heat can be extremely dangerous for dogs, and walking them for extended periods can pose significant health risks, including heatstroke.

To prioritize your dog's safety, I will be adjusting our walking times on particularly hot days. While the duration of walks may be shorter, the fee will remain the same. This is because even a brief outing in the heat requires careful monitoring and poses inherent risks that I am responsible for managing.

I hope you understand that these measures are taken with your pet's best interests in mind. If walking conditions are too hazardous, I may opt to provide alternative forms of care, such as indoor playtime, to keep your dog safe and comfortable.

I appreciate your trust in us and your understanding of the importance of these precautions.
