First clinic of 2025 was a success 🎉🎉🎉

Thank you all so much for coming along. I loved working with each of you as very different horses!!! Definitely kept me on my toes. Hope you guys enjoyed yourselves, learned something new as that’s what it’s all about and had as much fun as I did 🥰🥰

The sun was out today!!!! Could the “S” word be round the corner 😎😎

Now I’ve said it once I’ll say it again “teenagers scare the s**t out of me” 😂😂. Kori and Leo took on a 90cm grid today just to make Leo have a little more respect for the jumps and listen to his rider. This was after Leo showed me exactly how fast he could go. Thank god Kori was laughing otherwise it would have been a flat work lesson 😂😂. Next step is keeping Kori in the saddle when they land rather than staying in light position!! But fantastic work and gave me a laugh.

Stacey and Diva also done brilliant today as Diva wasn’t feeling quite herself. So we played about with some transitions and eventually Diva was feeling more like her old self. 🥳🥳 Followed by Stacey keeping Diva in the correct frame for a full lap of the arena 🎉🎉🎉. This is such an achievement as Diva is still young and she’s still developing so can only hold her frame for so long without losing it. Absolutely fantastic work!!! 🤩🤩

They did it!!!! Sarah and Trouble jumping!!!! 🎉🥳🎉🥳.
When I first met this pair, Sarah’s confidence was in her boots as Trouble was a bit of a handful as he was never 100% sure on what he was being asked and liked to have a tantrum. But 11 lessons later and look at them both!!!! In harmony and bursting with confidence!!!! 🤩🤩🤩. So much trust and they are trying a small jump!!!!! Absolutely over the moon!!!!! Well done guys!!!!! 🥰🥰

So we begin February this week and I’m now looking at possible dates for my clinics in March 🥰. Yes I know it’s early but this is when Z and I will be back out competing and don’t want anyone to miss out. Following my post a few days ago, I’m starting at “Greenacers” this Monday and I have 3 spaces available.
6pm, 6:30pm and 7pm.
Zorro will be there as he’s being used for my first client so I can offer him for 1 more lesson.

Also I have one space available on Wednesday at Gryffeside livery at 5:30pm. Sadly Zorro won’t be with me that night.

So I need some help. Im looking to do Monday or Friday night lessons. But would need an arena to work from. Does anyone have any recommendations or preference?

There is nothing wrong with Gryffeside livery that allows me to hire Wednesday nights and hosting my clinics. I am unbelievably grateful to Karen who allows me use of her amazing arena 🤩🥰🤩 but not everyone can make Wednesday nights and it’s quite far away for some clients so just wanting to see where people would like me to be and if they have any yard suggestions.

If not too far away I could also bring Zorro for a wee lesson or two but would depend on how far away the yard is.

All suggestions welcome 🥰🥰

Absolutely over the moon for this pair today!!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Wee change from Erin and Barney’s usual flat work lesson today. Erin is wanting to do some higher jumps with Barney this year but was lacking in confidence. Now this woman can jump better than I can so after some reassurance and gentle nudge they are flying over 65/70cm without any issues 🤩🤩🤩. Erin and Barney will be out competing in the 70/80’s in no time at all.

First lesson of 2025

Yes even coaches get lessons, we aren’t perfect 😂😂. Z did such a fab job considering he’s not been worked in over a week due to the weather.
Working on “test riding” to make sure the movements are 100% accurate as that can make a massive difference to your score.
Hopefully be getting to move up to Silver Novice and possibly some elementary this year!!! All looking very promising 🤞🤞

I have confirmed that we will be down in beautiful Gryffeside Livery on Sunday 9th February. 🥳🥳
12pm to 2pm. 30min private slots
£40 as this helps to cover the arena hire and for using Z 🖤

🐴🖤The Dressage Friesian experience 🐴🖤

After a lot of enquiries about riding Zorro at my dressage clinic in February. I thought maybe I could do a wee clinic with him.

If you’ve never ridden a Friesian before it’s definitely an experience. They don’t move like most horses and I can explain why they move a certain way and shine some light on their colourful history.

Obviously terms and conditions come with this as he’s my own horse and there is a way I like him to be ridden. I haven’t set a date yet as I’d like to see if this is of any interest to clients.

Hope you have all had an amazing new year and are ready for 2025 🥳🥳🥳

However I hate to be that person but just wanting to remind everyone of my “24hr cancellation notice”.
This is my job and it’s my only form of income to pay bills and such. I completely understand that life happens and horses aren’t the most durable of animals. But if for any reason a client needs to cancel please do it 24hrs before your lesson so I can fill the space.
If a client does cancel within 24hrs then sadly I need to charge as it doesn’t give me enough time to fill the slot. I don’t like doing it but this is the only way I can stay teaching full time and doing what I love.
Ok moan over, let’s make 2025 a fabulous year for all 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Well 2024 wasn’t too bad I suppose. But the one thing I’m most proud of is my wee business 🥰🥰. Going fully self employed is so scary but so worth it!!!!
2025 is gonna be full of fun, clinics, shows and helping others achieve their riding goals.

Diva and Stacey today. Just getting better and better 🥰🥰🥰

Stacey managed to get Diva into a controlled contact in record time 🤩🤩 and they even managed a wee bit of the outline in canter!!! Absolutely amazing work!!! Just love this wee horse. She’s such a gem!!!! 💎.
Homework for this pair is to keep with the outline work in trot and to keep trying with the canter. As we all know practice makes perfect and a little bit of patience 🎉🎉🎉

Its all in the body language 🤩🤩 Im always asked by clients if I can help them with confidence on a spooky or looky horse but really is all down to knowing your horse’s body language. Little Ava and Gill (who are mine and Z’s friends) have some small confidence blocks with hacking. But as we can see Ava is totally relaxed. So it’s all down to reading your horse’s body language. As we went on our hack, Gill became more relaxed the further we went because Ava was, that’s all down to Gill reading Ava. And not anticipating what Ava might or might not do. Even when 2 massive lorries past us, neither of them batted an eyelid as they were working off of each others reactions. 🥳🥳🥳 Super well done to them 🥰🥰🥰 If your horse is being a bit looky like Z is ATM, you get their attention on you. Like a leg yield or outline, anything to get your horse’s attention back on you. It’s all about reading the signs and not jumping to conclusions.

Biggest achievement to date 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 Sarah and her fabulous boy Trouble cantered!!!!!! When I first met this fabulous pair, Sarah and Trouble had a couple of set backs which sadly took its toll on Sarah’s confidence. Her exact words were “we don’t canter”. 5 lessons later and here they are!!!!! Cantering away!!!! 🤩🥳🤩🥳🤩🥳 Such a massive well done to you both!!! I’m absolutely buzzing and it can only get better!!!!! Keep up the amazing work
