Being behind the vertical.

So many of us want our horses to be down in a contact. Unfortunately for Jenni and Bear, Bear was being very sneaky and popping his nose into his chest. Allowing him to appear on the bit but he’s actually behind the vertical. Yes everyone will say “you should be able to feel the difference” but some riders can’t until it is explained. Jenni also unknown to her, actually over bends Bear which then allows him to do this. You can see this in the first part of the video.
So my solution for this is to get her hands up and forward as this allows Bear to stretch his neck out and not have him tucked in. Yes Jenni is holding on to her “oh s**t strap” which is perfectly fine and as you can see Bear is no longer behind the vertical. Yes he does do it every so often but in comparison to the other part of the video, it’s a big difference. 🥳🥳

So I’ve had quite a few requests for clipping over the last few days so thought I’d put up a wee price list 🌟🌟

Another night of learning for me. Currently on the topic of “coaching dressage”, Showjumping tomorrow

As all my riders know I love to ask the question “how does that feel?” It’s so the riders know what they are dealing with and how their horse might react when asked to do something. Such as, when to ask for a transition? Is the horse a bit on edge so you ask later then usual with a slightly lighter touch or is it behind the leg so you need to prepare earlier and give them a bit more of a nudge.
Being able to feel how your horse is feeling, allows the rider to get the best response as it’s all about communication. Trust me there’s method in my madness 🤪

When your horse doesn’t travel, don’t worry I bring the clear rounds to you 🥳🥳

It was my “Helensburgh” clients “clear round”competition this morning and my face and lungs hurt from laughing so much!!! 😂😂 But I’m absolutely bursting with pride for them all 🤩🤩 I love that the girls even dressed up. Cause that’s what it’s all about!!! We had some scary moments but there was nothing there they couldn’t handle!!! They were all pushed out their comfort zones but they handled it with grace and the odd swear word 😂🤬😂🤬
So so proud of you all and I think the horses even had a blast!! I’m now away to get my inhaler as I can no longer breathe due to all the laughing 😂😂😂

Now I’m not a professional but I’m maybe considering, just to keep me busy, offering this service to clients at a discounted rate because as I said I’m NOT a professional.
Also good desensitisation for Tarek as he’ll be getting clip next year. And give him his due he didn’t give a monkeys 🙉 😂
