Please help find Bridget 🥹

She's a 4.5yo calico cat with a very distinctive coat. She is microchipped. She's been missing from Ravenhill Road since yesterday morning around 1130am. She never usually stays out overnight and always comes when we call her name so this is very unusual. She's friendly but quite skittish and will probably be frightened. We are worried she might have got trapped in someone's shed or garage or something.

Stanford's family gave him a lovely gift of cleaner teeth, fresher breath and better oral health this week and took advantage of our Dental Offer we have been running. As you can see from his pics, Stanford already had quite a lot of tartar build up on his teeth, and this was starting to cause gingivitis also as the tartar pushed against the gum line.
Once teeth are at this stage, the only way to correct this is via a fully comprehensive dental check, along with an ultrasonic scale and polish. Home dental care is essential to keep these teeth in tip top condition going forward. If this was left to progress, dental disease can lead to extractions being required.

⚠️Scenes of surgery ⚠️

Intestinal blockages can happen for a variety of reasons, the most common being due to a pet eating something they shouldn't have. It gets stuck after passing from the stomach, but cannot be passed via the intestinal tract and out through the re**um and a**l passage along with faeces.

The list can be endless but here are a few of the most common items we will retrieve from a dogs intestinal system.
Socks 🧦
Rubber Toys 🏀
Wooden BBQ Skewers 🔥
Tea Towels 🏳
Golf Balls 🏌
Stones 💎
Bits of Plastic 🥤

Pets can show a variety or no symptoms of intestinal discomfort, so it can be useful to be aware of any changes in your pets behaviour, eating habits, toilet habits and demeanour.

If at any time you are worried your pet may have eaten something they shouldn't have, please do call us for advice. Sometimes surgery can be avoided if we know what they have eaten, and whether it is possible for us to safely induce vomiting to get it back up and out before it leaves the stomach.

This pet thankfully got to surgery in time before the gut got anymore compromised and made a full recovery. ( he ate some of his owners clothes 👚👗 )

Anyone visiting the practice over the next 48 hours, please be aware that our top car park is closed and access to the clinic is via the side door of the building. Please use the bottom car park for parking during your visit.

Our storm 🌬 damaged tree 🌳is currently unsafe due to todays windy weather. Our tree surgeon is booked but hasn't arrived as of yet. The top car park and access to the front of the building are closed.

You are your pet's safety are paramount to us, so please follow the signs once you arrive. Our team will do their utmost to make the process as smooth as possible, and are navigating this issue to the best of their abilities.

‼️‼️scenes of surgery‼️‼️

Splenic masses are very common in older dogs, just like humans these masses can be benign or malignant and can can be fatal if they rupture.
Luckily for this dog, this was not the case and we were able to remove the mass with little side effects.
Although spleens have a very important role in the immune system and in storage of blood cells, animals recover from these surgeries very well and their bodies adapt to the changes. As you can see from the surgery photo the mass was very large, weighing in at just over 2kg!!

We've had an entire male cat handed in, sadly deceased. Found Annadale Embankment. He's black with white paws and chin. No collar or chip 😢
