Sadly Bob the bulldog passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday. He was very chilled and never any trouble. Hopefully he can make friends and sleep with the other doggies at the bridge.The day before his mum messaged to say he'd bought me a birthday present, I collected it today and it's lovely.

I will have a weekday lunchtime slot coming up. This can either be a half hour solo walk or visit at 12 noon, or a 30 minute/1 hour walk with another (calm) dog. Ideally Belper or Heage area to fit in with current clients and must be a small or non-pulling dog if walked.

After starting my little business in 2014 I've always worked through Christmas previously.

As some of you are aware, this year I am taking some time off. I will be finishing at lunchtime on 22 December and starting back on Tuesday 2 January 2024. Apologies for any inconvenience.

IVDD is what my girl, Polly, had 4 years ago and she's had a couple of minor relapses this year. The first time she was off her back legs for a long while and it took 9 months of physio and hydrotherapy after surgery to get her to a reasonable standard of walking. Sufficient insurance is a must, particularly if you have a Dachshund.

INSURANCE, do you have INSURANCE? Are you thinking about getting insurance?
If you don't have it , seriously consider putting a good policy in place.

Many say insurance is a waste of money, that insurance will wriggle out of paying . That's not true . Ins will only refuse a claim if you don't have the correct level of cover . If you get it right, they can't wriggle out of it .

Some say to save up for any treatment. How long would it take you to save £4 - £7k for ivdd surgery? Bear in mind 1 in 3 might need surgery again within 6 months.
We see dachshunds as young as 12 months old with ivdd. It destroys the life you once knew with your precious dachshunds. Takes a lot of Money, time, patience and rehabilitation to recover.
Ivdd is terrifying, more so without insurance. Takes your choices away.

Ins takes 2-3 weeks to go live, so do it ASAP if you decide ins is for you. Don't get caught out.
The information below will help you get it right .

Also note, many vets can and do misdiagnose ivdd. Some vets will also suggest euthanasia! Ivdd doesn't need to be a death sentence .
