🌈Gladys 🌈Cranberry
It’s been a sad time at PP this week.
Beautiful resident piggy Gladys aged just 4 years (who was diagnosed with lymphoma last month) decided it was time to run over the rainbow after around 4 weeks of palliative care. She’s left a massive hole, not just in the herd, but in our hearts too. 💔
Handsome, long term foster Cranberry aged just 2.5 years was continuing to have serious problems with his teeth and he too decided that he was ready to run over the rainbow. In agreement with the vets, we knew it wasn't right to put him through repeated regular anaesthesia and surgery. His genetic linked dental problems were quickly becoming a welfare issue (despite receiving expert vet treatment) causing ulcers and associated pain and weight loss. Another hole, another heart broken. 💔
Both potatoes were born here at the rescue and remained in our care their whole lives, Gladys with Hannah at HQ and Cran with Vicky. Both left us way before their time due to illnesses that could not be cured. Alas, they lived happy, free lives here at PP, more than what they would have had had their mums not found sanctuary with us all those years ago 🌈
💜We will miss them both.💜
