Happy Adoption to lots of piggies this week! 🎉

Today, Elliott and Pierre have found new homes with ladies, fingers crossed for straight forward bonds! Happily, Lily, Poppy and baby Wednesday are due to head off to their new home together to a returning PP adopter. Lastly Biscuit & Snowy leave tomorrow to keep an older sow company, which is a great happy ending from the long journey they had up to us.

Thanks due to Jess, Beccie, Alex, Vicky, Lauren & Sam, and Amy and family, for fostering and transporting many of these lovelies 💖

🍯 CARAMEL & SPRINKLES 🧁

This young boar pair needs an understanding and knowledgeable home. They are in care through no fault of their own. They are sweet but scaredy boys who need a nice big enclosure, indoor or outdoor considered. Would suit a family, maybe with older children, who are happy to work with their new pigs to gain trust and build confidence. A potentially really rewarding journey for the right home 💖

They are currently in foster with our lovely boar specialist Anne-Marie and are being pampered but we'd love for them to be in their new home by Christmas. Boy pairs are so difficult to find homes for, especially when they are timid. At only 1 year old, we are also happy to discuss partly funding castration for both boys to provide bonding options for the future.

Happy (Unofficial) Adoption to our Chunky Boy!

Chunk has been in care for many months now, he's around 5-6 years old and sadly started with some dental issues just as we bonded him to a companion to find a new home. Due to this, we decided to keep him single, so his friend could be adopted. After recent dental surgery, and a hell of a lot of love from his extremely dedicated foster mum, Vicky, who has been managing his weight, pain relief and post op recovery, he has now moved in permanently with our foster mum Anne-Marie to make friends with her own bereaved boy, George.

He will stay within the sanctuary's care forever now, and have regular vet revisits to monitor his dental issues. Your donations help to support piggies like Chunk who remain in our care permanently ✨

💖 Lonely Hearts Call - Chestnut & Chase 💖

Following the success of the last post looking to match up a lonely boy, we have identified two more lovely boys who need our help finding a new home and a new companion. If you think you can help either of these lovely boys via a home-to-home adoption please drop the page a message!

CHESTNUT 🌰
Chestnut was adopted from us several years ago. He is castrated and is an older adult likely around 5 years old. He has lived with a sow herd and also an older boy in later life. He would love a new home local to Sheffield, ideally with some ladies to love, but he may tolerate an older calm boy. His current family are not looking to continue the piggy cycle, but would love to keep in touch with Chestnut in his new home.

CHASE 🖤
Chase is a regular visitor to The Potato Patch Hotel, who unfortunately recently lost his buddy Alfie. He is around 4 years old and not neutered. He is looking for an indoor home local to Doncaster with an older, calm boar (or maybe a "unicorn" neutered sow!). His current family are not looking to continue the piggy cycle, but would love to keep in touch with Chase in his new home.

These boys' families are not in a rush to re-home and will wait for the right home for their boys, but we are keen to find them companionship if we can! Please message the page if you think you have a Chestnut or Chase shaped hole in your life ✨

🩸 BUFFY 🩸

Buffy is one of 5 sisters we recently helped. Their family had purchased two young sows who were unexpectedly pregnant so we accepted both litters into care. We have prioritised all families awaiting young sows on our waiting list so Buffy's four sisters have their new homes lined up, but Buffy is still waiting. She will be able to leave us in around 3 weeks.

She's quite shy, so we would prefer a home for her with no or older children only. She needs some new older, confident piggy friends, and should be fairly easy to integrate into an existing herd due to her age. Indoor and outdoor homes considered. We expect applications for her to be fairly popular, so please don't be offended if we do not respond to everyone personally.

💖 Lonely Hearts Call - OAP Boar 💖

COMPANION FOUND 🥰 Please see top post for more boys needing a new friend!

We are currently trying to help a loyal client of The Potato Patch Hotel & Grooming Services find a companion for her bereaved 6 year old boar. Dudley has always lived with other boys and owner has bonded boys before. Dudley is indoors, has a large hutch as a "base" but has free roam of his mums living room (and sometimes the whole house when supervised!). Unfortunately we have no one in care currently who would suit, and Dudley is getting lonely.

We are looking for a pig that fits the following criteria:

🐹 Adult ideally over 3 years old
🐹 Previously lived with boars happily
🐹 Ideally within 1 hour of Retford area (but may be willing to travel further for the right boy)
