Sable is such a beautiful soul. She came to us extremely weak and emaciated, so much so it took her a week before she could stand. She has come on leaps and bounds and is looking for someone who can love her every day forever more. She is an 8 year old female German Shepherd, very laid back and calm. She still loves her walks and is strong on her lead. She tolerates other dogs but would be suited to a pet free home. Sable would be suitable to live within a calm household with older children.

Simple quick top tips.

Please don't wait for your dog to go missing.

Follow these simple steps.

1. Check your fence hasn't blown down in the wind before you let your dog out.

2. Check your gate hasn't been left open by the parcel delivery driver before you let your dog out.

3. Make sure your GPS tracker is charged and turned on before heading out for a walk.

4. Check the mobile number on the dog tag is readable and hasn't worn away.

5. Keep your dog on the lead in strong winds ( as can be spooked more easily) unless your a 100% sure your recall is spot on.

⭕️ LARGE DOG OWNERS IMPORTANT INFO ⭕️

Even if you know your dog isn't an XL Bully its very important to check if your dog is classed as an XL Bully by the government. If you have Large dog with a muscular body and blocky head they could meet the criteria to be classed as an XL BULLY even if they are not . If you have a cross breed dog this could also be classed as an XL BULLY . A suspected XL Bully breed type does not need to fit the physical description perfectly. If your dog meets the minimum height measurements and a substantial number of these characteristics, it could be considered an XL Bully breed type. So if you have a tall muscular dog then check the criteria below to see if you need an exemption .

️⚠️From 1 February 2024 it will be a criminal offence to own an XL Bully dog in England and Wales unless your dog has a valid Certificate of Exemption. It costs £92.40 for an application to exempt a dog . ⚠️

✅️To keep an XL Bully Dog an have them exempt the dog must be.✅️

*microchipped
*neutered ( info below)
*kept on a lead and muzzled at all times when in public
*kept in a secure place so it cannot escape

Before you apply to exempt your dog you must :
* take out third party public liability insurance against your dog injuring other people.

You can get third party liability insurance through the dog trusts Companion Club for £25 a year (or £12.50 if you're over 60).

If your dog is less than 1 year old on 31 January 2024, it must be neutered by 31 December 2024

If your dog is older than 1 year old on 31 January 2024, it must be neutered by 30 June 2024

We are almost at D - Day now ‼️

13 Days until the ban on XL Bullies comes into effect ‼️

If your dog looks anything at all like these, on these photos, have you muzzle trained them ❓
Have you trained them to walk on a lead in public place ❓
Are they microchipped ❓
Have you taken out 3rd party liability insurance with the Dogs Trust❓
Have you had them neutered❓
Have you applied for the exemption certificate ❓

If the answer is No, and you’ve not done any preparations for the ban and Yes, your dog is a muscular bull breed that looks like these dogs then you need to ACT NOW ‼️

Don’t forget the XLBully ban is based on appearance , known as TYPE. They are not a recognised breed in England. So if your dog looks anything like these it could be seized and possibly euthanised unless you start the exemption process.

Your dog MUST be muzzled and on a lead in a public place at all times from December 31st

You cannot own a dog like these in the photos without those restrictions in place
You cannot gift, rehome, sell, buy, breed from or abandon a dog like these.
Rescue centres cannot rehome them after the 31st December so if you suddenly decide to give up your dog, it WILL be euthanised by the end of this month . 😞

Please do the right thing for your dog. Save your dog from being seized and possibly death
Get it muzzled trained as a matter of urgency.
The major dog rescue charities have muzzle training videos on YouTube - follow the instructions
Many of the bigger dogs need specific muzzles that are unavailable in shops - check out The Muzzle Movement for details of large breed ‘fat head’ style muzzles.

Then put the other things into place urgently

Microchip
Insurance
Exemption certificate and license
