Great weekend mantrailing at aytoncastle Saturday saw two new teams joining us with their introduction and today was the Halloween Special with trailers playing real life cluedo - thankfully without the crime scene! Longer/ aged trails and some line ups. Well done everything and thank you Ayton Castle for allowing us at your stunning venue 🕵️‍♀️🍂

Mr Flex here has some ongoing health issues requiring medication. He's a happy chap but his gut is not so happy with the meds, it grumbles, gurgles and he burps. We've been on quite the food journey and have recently stumbled upon Different Dog. He's been on it for a couple of months now, loves it and most importantly so does his gut. He is less gurgly and burpy and seems more settled.

So things have been a little quiet on here and I thought you all deserved an explanation.

There have been some pretty big shifts in the last year.

Firstly losing my incredible Indy - I still haven’t fully gotten over this, training doesn’t feel the same. She was the reason I got into training, my workshop dog, go anywhere dog and all round best girl. There is still a huge labrador sized hole in my life (although there is more bread on the kitchen counter.). Seeing owners and puppies and young dogs truly loving training and bonding with each other is magical but bittersweet!

Secondly I took on a second “part time” job in Feb - A complete change of pace, working with a fabulous charity as their bike project co-ordinator. Having a steady income and one role instead of every role (as required when self employed) has been refreshing and a huge relief in some ways. It has meant however less time to devote to Fellowship Dog Training and shifting FDT to part time has been hard work - especially maintaining some time for me.

Thirdly, Family time, we had our first school holiday to juggle and my husband had a huge shift too - moving from self employment to a position in a big company. So a lot of adjustment has been required. And so I decided to put me first and put FDT on hold - which was HARD!

All the above lead to some pretty heavy burnout, some panic attacks, some feelings of not being enough, and in short some pretty heavy moods!

Thankfully I’m starting to reach the other side and I would like to thank you all for your patience with the lack of classes, poor communication, missed emails and all the rest! If you’ve got this far - well done!

There will be a post following this with the dates for Mantrailing, Parkour, Gundog and my final classes for the year. These will be the last block of classes until MARCH next year.

LAST INTRO TO MANTRAILING AND CLASS INTAKE UNTIL AUGUST!

Sorry for the Shouty Caps - I just really didn't want you to miss out!

I will not be running any more classes until August so I can spend the Summer Holidays with my daughter, and there may or may not be another Introduction to Mantrailing over the summer -I've not quite decide.

So if you would love to try Mantrailing - come and have a go - we will be finished sharpish so plenty of time to watch the Rallying too in the afternoon!

Our Awesome Acorn classes (For puppies) and our Strong Roots (General Foundations/ dogs over 1 year/ puppy class graduates) are perfect to give you some training ideas over the summer! There are only two spaces left for each class - Starting on Monday night for 5 weeks

Fundog Gundog sessions on Saturday were great! Rain held off and we worked on steadiness, retrieving, recall and making good choices! Lots of brainpower needed and hopefully some tired dogs!

Rainy mantrailing session this morning - not that the dogs minded much (except maybe Hattie!) working on scent article starts, door indications, aged trails and split trails!
