Bark 2 Basics Dog Training Bark 2 Basics is a well established dog training school which run weekly classes and caters for all levels and abilities. Booking essential.

We are a well established training club covering all aspects of training and behaviour. Training is reward based and positive reinforcement is always encouraged, whether it be treats, toys or praise. Maximum of eight dogs per class and classes are on a Wednesday evening. Please ring me for further information.

5pm - 12 weeks - 20 weeks
6pm - class is currently full

Class duration is 50 minutes

5pm - this class is open to anyone currently in it as i know a few have asked me this.

Venue Palace Green Scouts Hall, Berwick

£60 paid on booking which is non refundable. Please pm me to book.

This is a great foundation course for your puppy where you will learn all the basics, how to socialise your dog properly and some essential handling skills.

Please note all my courses run for 5 weeks but I am on holiday week 3 of this one which is 12th March so this missed week will be added on.

Loads of fun in puppy class tonight. We mainly worked on handling skills and did some very short sit stays, finishing with recalls. Well done everyone.

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow evening (22nd).

Please come prepared with a variety of treats, treat bag to put them in, normal lead no retractable/flexi leads. Would prefer puppies on a collar but if all you have is a harness then don't worry.

It will be a busy class as all spaces taken.

Parking can be restricted for residents only until 5.30pm so please park accordingly, still two car parks within a 5 minute walk, one behind Bank of Scotland and one on Bridge Street.

Age group is 6 - 12 month olds

This class is open to anyone already in it and also any dogs who have a good basic level of training. This means a decent recall and understanding of sit, down, stay commands. This is a more advanced class so this is why I am being more specific🙂

1:1's are still very popular and are a great way to have some really intense training then go away and practice.

This is Freya who has been in her new home almost 4 months. She came to see me with slight reactivity to dogs and people due to a real lack of confidence. Fortunately for her she has great owners and they really want the best for her.

We started with teaching her some solid recalls, reinforced heavily with high reward food. Her barking initially was intense but as I got her thinking about focusing on her owner or me it started to diminish. We introduced her one at a time to Gloria then Alice and finally Teddy. She coped really well. Kept intros short and as she was doing so well had her recalling past them. She pretty much nailed it, obviously her owners have a lot of work to do but I am confident thro repetition and consistency she will improve so much🙂
