Chameleon geckos are rising in popularity, and are similar in care to crested geckos. However, these intermediate-level pets are still sensitive to heat stress and dehydration. With good care, they are likely to have a 15-20 year lifespan

Chameleon geckos are usually open to being handled and with regular contact, can become very tame. Sit on the floor and let your gecko walk from hand to hand at their own pace. While their tails will grow back if harmed, this species does not drop their tails as a response to threat.

This week is Pet Appreciation Week 🐶🐱🐹🦎🐍🕷️🦂

Pet appreciation week is always the first week of June, Pet Appreciation Week was created by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) in 1981 to raise awareness about overall pet care. The purpose is to recognize pet owners' responsibilities toward pet care, fostering, and adoption.

We should pause often and remember that we are our pets’ whole world. There is nothing they love more than spending time with their special people. This week is the perfect opportunity to show our furry, feathered and scaly friends how much we appreciate, honor, and respect them. 🥰

🦎Banded Gecko 🦎

Coleonyx mitratus

Lifespan: 10 years
Max size: 6”
Temperature: 25-30 C
Humidity: 50-60%

This small pretty gecko is native to Central America. But whilst thousands of miles apart, this species is actually closely related to the Leopard gecko.

They inhabit both semi-arid and humid forest regions . These animals are crepuscular and would take refuge during the day in underground burrows, under rocks or in hollow wood.

Handling Central American Banded Geckos can be done carefully, they are fairly skittish by nature though they do get used to being handled. Handling must be done close to the floor to begin with, to prevent any accidental falls. Never restrain your animal against its will or it could cause them a great deal of stress and your gecko could also drop its tail as a consequence.

🐍LEOPARD BALL PYTHON 🐍

Python regius

Lifespan: 20-30 years.
Max size: 3-5 ft.

native to open woodlands and savannahs of western Africa south of the Sahara extending east into north-western Uganda.

Ball pythons are generally well-mannered, easy to handle, and grow between three-five feet; making them an ideal snake for a beginning snake owner. Ball pythons do not usually bite, and for the most part, are very docile. Young snakes tend to be more aggressive, but become more comfortable with frequent handling.

Once your ball python realizes that you will not harm them, they enjoy being handled. Some may try to hide when being held and occasionally some may even bite due to fear, but it's uncommon.

🐠FLOWER HORN CICHLID🐠
✨scientific name-Cichlasomatinae✨

Our juvenile flower horn cichlid is just absolutely stunning. Flower horn cichlids are mostly common for the large bulbous lump on their forehead. Flower horns weren’t actually found in the wild, this species was created by a cichlid hobbyist that cross bred various central American species together.
Adults can grow up to 10-16 inches (40cm)so a big tank is necessary for flower horns. These fish have a slightly aggressive nature so the best suited fish to go in with these species that can stand up to them are Oscar cichlids and suckermouth pleco’s
If you have a flower horn mated pair it would just be 1 pair per tank.

Flower horn tanks need to be slightly bare and plain compared to your normal aquarium due to a destructive behaviour and curiousness, they are known to dig up plants, overturn drift wood and move larger rocks 🤩

Well it’s not one product, it’s actually 5!!!
We know we’ve got quite a few customers who have Axolotls, and how much they are loved and looked after, so we’re very pleased to announce that we now stock this range from NT Labs.
For feeding, we have both the Adult and Junior Sinking Pellets. Both are high in protein and fortified with vitamins and minerals to support their physiology, and are very low in waste.
For their water, we have…
*AxoSafe Tap Dechlorinator which removes chlorine, halogens, chlorine and heavy metals found in tap water, which are toxic to Axolotls.
*AxoTonic Salt Mixture which helps to reduce occurrence and supports recovery from fungal infections by creating the optimum water conditions.

🦜🦜🦜Budgerigar🦜🦜🦜

We have just had a delivery of these budgies, how amazing are the colours on these amazing birds so bright and beautiful!. Our little yellow friend decided to sit on our staff members hand 🤩
We have posted about our lovely budgies before but we have some new followers on our page so we thought we’d post about them again and give you more information ☺️

Native to Australia, where to this day there are still many wild flocks. A natural habitat of scrublands and grasslands are where you would find these birds flying through the Sky. Budgies are about 7.5 inches long and these birds come in hundreds of different colours much like ours we have in store.
They tend to live between 6-15 years.
Given enough training to your little companion they may learn how to speak which they are capable of learning many different words in different languages! How cool!! 🤩 🦜🦜🦜🦜🦜

🐸STRAWBERRY ARGENTINIAN HORNED FROG 🐸
✨scientific name - Ceratophrys cranwelli✨
We’ve got a new frog in town 🤩 the absolute stunning Strawberry Argentinian horned frog or better known as a Pac-Man frog.
~ ⭐️Some information on this beautiful creature ⭐️~
These frogs are more commonly known as pac-man frog due to their big mouths that resemble the pac-man character in the video game.
Originating from South America, found in areas of Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil. They are a terrestrial species which means they tend to live on the ground rather than in trees or water, their habitat consists of burrowing in dirt, rocks and leaves.
In the wild these creatures live from 1-4 years but in captivity they can live from 6-10 years.

Adults range from 3-5 inches and can weigh up to 1 pound, males tend to be smaller than females.

These frogs should NOT be handled unless absolutely necessary due to their skin being very sensitive and they may even try to bite fingers/hands

Bearded dragons originate from deserts and other dry areas in Australia

Captive-bred bearded dragons are docile. They rarely bite, scratch, or harm their handlers. Each bearded dragon is unique but generally sociable and tolerant of humans. Some may be fine with other beardies in captivity, but many prefer to be alone.
