💦🐴 WATER TREADMILL CLIENTS 🐴💦 WE NEED YOUR HELP WITH A DISSERTATION PROJECT! For a discounted price, we need you and your horse to take part in the following study: One of our Level 6 Equine Therapy and Rehabilitation students is investigating the short-term effects of Water Treadmill exercise on overland locomotion. The study will run over a total of 7 weeks which will include: - an initial dynamic assessment requiring the horse to walk and trot in a straight line in front of a camera with skin markers to assess gaits and limb angles. - 6-weeks Water Treadmill exercise programme. This will include 2 sessions of 25 mins max each x week. - A final dynamic assessment laid out as per the initial assessment to assess any changes within gait and limb angles. Your horse will need to be available two days x week for the duration of the 6 weeks (Wednesday and Friday or Wednesday and Saturday are the preferred days but changes can be discussed). Your horse will have to have been used to a Water Treadmill before/recently. The study would possibly start around the second week of January. ALL sessions will be carried out under FULL supervision of the Equine Therapy Centre Coordinator. 🐴 MEET OUR HORSES 🐴 🏇🏼TULANE🏇🏼 Tulane joined the college during the last academic year. He is a 16hh 9yo bay TB who has flat raced till October 2022. He lived next to a horse called Shadow Walker for most of his career who soon became his best friend. After achieving everything he could in racing, his past owners decided to give him the best retirement and his trainer took him under her wing and turned him into a great all rounder. He would have been an incredible and stunning showing horse but unfortunately a field injury cut his showing career short. He loves schooling, hacking and even tried side saddle! He loves frozen ice lollies 🍡🍭 and adventures in the water. He is a great addition to our beautiful team of ponies!

🐴MEET OUR HORSES🐴 🎀JOEY🎀 (Callowfeenish Joeanne) Joey is a 15hh 14yo grey Connemara mare who we are lucky enough to loan for our academic years.Joey is an incredibly kind mare who can be sensitive when you first meet her. She loves hacking and will try her heart out in the school for her rider. Before joining our super team of horses, she used to enjoy endurance riding with her owner whilst also participating in many other activities.Staff adore cuddles with Joey and hearing a little winnie every morning from her. 🧸🤍

🐎MEET OUR HORSES🐎 😍Alfred😍 Alfred is a 13.2hh 12yr old black cob gelding, and while he may be small, he is MIGHTY. 💪 Alfred loves being in the field with his friends more than anything in the world, and he knows every trick in the book to avoid being caught. If Alfred could don a camo outfit and hide in the grass he would! Alfred is a lovely chap and enjoys working with our students - he can let out the odd excited squeal, but is a super pony and has a lot to teach our students. Alfred came to us from a showing home and had done a lot of driving previously.

Oh Rolo, that's the reaction you want when you turn a horse out - so used to going out with his friends that it's not even exciting enough to do anything more than a sedate stroll across the field. 😍

🐴MEET OUR HORSES🐴 🏐Sombra (Foreshadow)🏐 Sombra is a 5yr old 15.1hh bay TB gelding who came to us from a polo yard. He wasn't quite quick enough for the polo pitch, and so he joined the college herd. Whilst he is still a little green, Sombra is a lovely boy and a fantastic safe hack. Our yard team are currently working with Sombra to re-school him, and whilst he is working on learning the ropes of being a college horse, he is taking part in unmounted practical sessions with our students. Sombra has developed a very strong friendship with our beautiful spotty college horse Arthur, and the two can mostly be found side by side in the field, generally trying to share the same blade of grass!☘️

🐴MEET OUR HORSES🐴 🐎Arthur🐎 Arthur is a 16.2hh 19yr old leopard spot Appaloosa gelding who joined our herd of college horses in December last year. 🤩 Whilst he can be a tad emotional in the stable and gets very stressed when his friends leave him, Arthur is the kindest and safest horse you could ever wish to sit on. He will look after the most nervous rider, but is also capable of whizzing around with our more confident students and showing off his lovely flat work. Arthur even featured in our tv series with Horse & Country TV doing some cross country with Riding With Rhi! 🎬 Arthur is already a firm favourite amongst both staff and students, and adds a bit of spotted sophistication to proceedings!

Chunky would like everyone to join him in celebrating the beautiful new Andrews Bowen Ltd surface in our BBA arena 😍😍😍 What a treat our students have in store when they return - all seven of our arenas have been either fully resurfaced, topped up, or remixed and laser levelled ready for student return 🥳
