Quinn has some reading to catch up on by November 📖

For those of you who haven’t yet seen the news, Peaky Barkers has a little future grooming assistant coming soon!! 👶🏼🤍

Please don’t panic about your appointments. I have options for all my existing/regular customers to keep all of your pups looked after whilst I’m away. I will have a good chat with you all when I see you at your next appointment regarding any questions you have, as I’m expecting a lot of you will have those! This will be easier for me than an influx of messages so if you can wait until you next see me, please do. 🥰

I will be sure to post a more informative update on here as soon as I can when I have all the details finalised!

Lots of love,
Dani, Quinn + Bump 🤍

And of course, thank you all so much for another super busy, amazing year full of all the cutest pups in town, as well as all my cards and pressies they’ve brought with them to their appointments over the past month, it’s so kind 🥹🎁

Enjoy the rest of the celebrations, I can’t wait to see all my favourite fluffy faces again next year! ❤️

🐾 🎅🏼 MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎅🏼 🐾

Just a quick post to say the biggest thank you to every single one of my customers for another amazing year. I truly cannot believe how busy I’ve been 🤯 and I couldn’t do it without you all, so thanks for being the best customers a lil dog groomer can have!!

I hope you and all your pups have a wonderful Christmas. I’ve got my feet up in front of the fire in my Christmas jammies and a Prosecco in hand so this is me signing out for the year!🥂

And I pinky promise I will upload all the Christmas pics of your pups whilst I’m off! 📸

Looking forward to seeing all of my Peaky Barkers in 2023 ❤️ 🐾
Lots of love,
Dani + Quinn 🥰

There are going to be some changes at the deli soon!

Given the current economic climate, things are getting tough for all, and retail is suffering - sales of harnesses, clothes and accessories are slowing to a halt, and with multiple shops in Beverley offering the same thing, it’s pointless trying to compete, so we won’t!

I am phasing out our accessories ranges for now (they’ll be back when times get easier!) and focusing on what we are best at - treats & food! We are THE specialist food store in Beverley, and the only store with a qualified dog behaviourist on staff.

We already have the largest selection of natural treats in the area, and now we are going to go bigger. This means bigger treat walls, more choice (and more price ranges too!) and even more exciting smells for your pup when they visit!

I am also going to expand my kibble range, to include some excellent kibble ranges at budget friendly prices.

We will never compromise our values or ethics but can expand our ranges to include treats and foods to suit a range of needs.

Keep an eye on the page and store for discounts on our remaining harnesses, leads etc, and bear with us while we adjust the store to fit more treats in!

This weeks delivery includes a MASSIVE treat haul plus some raw deliveries too!

Useful info to keep your pets safe during the heatwave ☀️

I’m closing the salon Monday/Tuesday as I don’t believe a pamper in such high temperatures is worth the risk - all those affected will receive a message with a new appointment if you haven’t already.

This does mean I’m slightly behind with other enquiries and messages so please bare with me it’s been a crazy week but I am slowly tackling my inboxes!

Keep yourselves and your pups safe 🐶❤️

Let talk antlers! We do stock them (but are out of stock at the moment) but many are surprised when I suggest an alternative.

Antlers are advertised as great for big chewers, reported safe from 6 months. They’re not.

I do not recommend antlers for dogs until they are at least 18 months old. Even then if you have an aggressive chewer I would recommend something else.

Antlers are really hard and can damage new teeth really easily, so even when teeth are properly developed a maximum of 10 mins supervised chew time is my suggestion.

Fallow antlers are softer and can be chewed for longer, and split antlers often keep a dogs interest for longer, but they are not a chew for all, and definitely not for puppies!

Healthy, kinder to teeth, alternatives include yakkers, lamb and goat horns, hooves and so on.

Please ask for advise if you are considering antlers and I can point you in the right direction for the right antler for your dog.

Like the queen, The Doggy Deli has 2 birthdays - one on the day we got the keys and today- the day we opened the doors 🤩. It’s officially our FIRST birthday! Now the queen stole the celebrations but we are still really proud of a year of hard work, and not knowing if we would make it! But here we are 🥳

thank you to everyone who’s shared a post, told others about us, liked a comment or been in bought things! Being a small business it really means our survival is a team effort!

So happy first birthday to the deli! Please come down over the Jubilee to join in with all the fun - we have some birthday cake too!

Hi everyone! I’ve only gone and locked myself out of the Instagram page as it asked for my birthday so without thinking i’ve put my businesses birthday in, instead of my own so Instagram has told me 5 years old is too young to have an Instagram account 🤣 I’ve obviously appealed this and sent off a photo of my driving licence to prove I am not 5!! Hopefully it’ll be back up and running as soon as poss but please use FB messenger or my mobile number to contact me in the meantime 🫠

DOGS BANNED FROM EAST RIDING BEACHES FROM SUNDAY - OR OWNERS RISK A £75 FINE.

ANNUAL RESTRICTIONS COME INTO FORCE FROM THIS WEEKEND. DO YOU AGREE WITH THEM?

Dog owners are being reminded that the annual restrictions excluding their pets from certain parts of beaches along the East Coast will be enforced from Sunday, 1 May.

The exclusion will run until 30 September and is designed to help families and visitors enjoy the seaside without being bothered by nuisance dogs or fouling.

The four beach areas affected by the dog exclusion, which are the same as those in previous years, are:

Bridlington north beach – between the northern end of the North Marine Promenade to the north-eastern face of the North Pier.

Bridlington south beach – between the southern face of the South Pier and the eastern face of Princess Mary Promenade.

Hornsea beach – between the concrete ramp at Headland View and the steps south of Sands Lane.

Withernsea beach – between the first groyne north of the access ramp opposite Seaside Road and the beach access steps at Pier Tower.

The areas of the promenades in Bridlington, Hornsea and Withernsea adjacent to the beach exclusion zones carry a restriction requiring owners to keep their dogs on leads in those areas.

Outside the restricted areas, dogs are still welcome - all the council asks is that dog walkers clean up after their animals and are considerate of other beach users.

Council officers will carry out regular patrols of the beaches and promenades and any owner found breaking the rules may receive a £75 fixed penalty notice.

Officers will also be patrolling other areas to make sure owners clean up after their dogs.

An East Riding of Yorkshire Council spokesperson said: “The exclusion on dogs using certain areas of the beach lasts just for the summer season.

“The vast majority of owners know the importance of not taking their dogs on the beach in the summer months when children and families are playing in the sand but there are plenty of other areas on the beaches where dogs are still welcome.

“The exclusion zones form a key part of the criteria by which our beaches are judged for their annual Awards.”

Anyone with information about dogs on the beaches during the exclusion period or to report dog fouling should contact the council’s dog warden team on (01482) 396301 or email [email protected]
