This mare has come so unbelievably far, and will spend the next 2 weeks been ridden away and then be turned away for a good rest, after 3 months of some hard education.
Mika was a nervous pony, and needed calm patiance and boundaries to fill her with confidence.
It's so important to be patient with nervous horses and remain calm, they feed off our body language so the importance of your own confidence can have an effect on their behaviour.
Mika has grown in confidence massively and its been a pleasure watching her find herself.
Whilst we have some more work to do, this mare will be turned away after been ridden away properly which I always feel is the best thing when they've had such intense education, it gives them chance to think and relax.
We look forward to showing you the end result.
Remember we are here to help with both horse and owner and get you to work together as a team.

Stage 1 of backing
With nervouse horses I do this in 3 stages.
Lean & walk
Lean & sit
Lean, sit and walk
This is so we don't ask to much all at once and let them realise they don't have to run away, or over think what we are asking.
Every horse and pony is different and it's important to read body language and know their mental state to avoid any unnecessary panic.
Here we have mika and Gayle Brown.
We have been working with Mika for just over 6 weeks.
We have worked on all types of issues from her not liking to be touched in certain areas of her body, to lunging and long reining, this mare works well off clear voice commands now without feeling trapped and panicked by what's going on.
She was a nervous bolshy mare a real over thinker about her surroundings.
Mika is now at the stage were we can bring owner and horse together.
Gayle is also nervous at times and Mika would feed of her energy. Today we intergraded them together and introduced gayle to long reining her which she did confidently and felt more in control of what she was doing with Mika.
Gayle feels more confident even turning the mare out, where previous when Mika would show behaviour of been defencive or wanting to take the lead gayle would at times panick and now feels she has the correct tools aids and advice to do this effectively without drama.
For us to see owners come together with their horse and have a partnership were they both understand and respect boundaries is so nice to watch. Calm and patiance is always the key.
