I think consistently inconsistent is the word for how much I use my fb page.

I've been making some blades recently, amongst other things. I thought the knives turned out quite nicely though. Some elm can be detected in there for sure, maybe some oak.

I've been neglecting my page a bit as of late, since I've had it they seem to be making it more irritating to use with every update. It's like they're intentionally trying to make me hate it, but still It's handy to have I suppose. I also apologise to those of you who have gotten in contact with me or left comments, my responses have been horribly slow because I didn't realise anyone had said anything.

I'm going to begin using it more again, I've got quite a few things to post up. Beginning with some cats, I made a secondary cat (which is actually the third) to go with the original one from long ago.

Taking suggestions on poses for the next one or five.

So I renamed this, no longer Ruskin Forge but Three Paw instead. Most wonderful.

My attempt at a simplified, small 18th Century flint napper. Completed a little while ago, made of mild steel with it's hammer, pick and chisel ends case hardened. A really nice little tool and a fun project I got to work on, really happy with how it turned out!

It hasn't been requested what so ever, but I just wanted to share some cat bothering I did a little while back on a designated 'allowed to go outside' day, featuring Teasel (white and black) and Cat the cat (fat).

They were actually super chill and helpful.

As with most things I upload, there's a bit of a delay from when I make a piece to when it gets posted. This time however, is no different.

A fairly simple little blade, with a handle consisting of bog oak and olive, with some super nice thick leather and brass spacers in between. Weirdly happy with this one.

I have a sheath in the works for it also, should be interesting providing everything goes according to plan.

Stay safe everyone!

I spent new years watching Entrapment with some friends, 11/10.

Anyway here is a seax I finished just before Christmas, and a sharp one at that. The blade is 18" in length, and the handle is made up of redwood and elm, with leather and brass spacers. I am most happy with the result. I was also asked to put some runes into both sides of the blade, one side being the name of the individual who the seax now belongs to, and the other side being the family name.

I have more blades being finished soon, and all sharp.

A change to be sure, but a welcome one. Stay safe everyone

As with most of my posts, I'd meant to upload this earlier! Despite the apocalypse, I've been oddly busy lately which I can't complain about. This is a bit of a work in progress, and not really an order or anything but more of a bit of fun. Me and Magnus leather goods had a bit of an impromptu handle making session for a reenactment shield, It was really fun and out of nowhere and I think it's looking lovely. Need to put a rim on it next and paint it up.

I might have to remake my own shield soon, the handle is boring and it's looking a bit tired.

Stay safe everyone!

I should have posted this sooner (as per usual) but you know, nevermind.

This is a cast bronze blade that I sadly haven't made, I did however polish and handle it for a client, I'm really quite pleased with the result and I think it looks quite dashing in this lovely woodland setting.

Most wonderful.

I've been meaning to post this for a while, but I have a new piece of equipment I've been playing with for a bit and kept forgetting. Whups.

Anyway, a recently finished viking era volva staff, based heavily on a grave find. it isn't something I know a great deal about as it's information which is somewhat new to me, but I believe I made it as close to the original blurry image as possible.

Made from a single piece, required a great deal of smith and striker to hammer this out. Thank you to Magnus leather goods for using the sledgehammer and putting up with my complaining

Some recently finished and installed structural brackets and forged rosehead nails for a large oak beam as part of a house restoration, along with two C initials for the house owners and a set of Roman numerals to mark it's completion.

Installed by Handymatt of Bewdley Restoration, hope to work with you more in the future!

Some custom carving knives I finished a couple of weeks ago and their brand new sheaths. I'm not much of a leatherworker, so I happily have others do it for me! These two were made by Magnus leather goods who's a good friend of mine, very good at using a sledgehammer and doing his leatherwork.

Hint check him out hint hint hint he's good.
