It’s been a pleasure but I’m now closing this chapter of my life 😢

It’s been one of the toughest decisions I’ve made, but I have chosen to peacefully leave behind what i’ve built over the past 4 years in Bicester to make room for a new adventure here in MK.

Of course I’m still going to be working with lots of beautiful dogs! Just in my new home town and under a new fresh name 🥰

If you guys could keep up the amazing support and love by liking, following and even sharing my new page it would mean the world to me. Starting new is scary but I’m soooo excited to see what lies ahead!!

Please make sure to stay in touch as I often think about all of your pooches I have had the pleasure of working with 🫶🏻

The rain didn’t dampen our spirits during Buddy’s training session joined by Emma from Follow my lead ☔️

We are SO close to accomplishing our end goal of Emma being able to comfortably pop into Buddy’s house to take him out for regular walks whilst his parents are working! With each visit Buddy is more trusting, calmer and responsive to cues.

Today was our first moment where Emma was able to take the lead (quite literally) and head out of the house with Buddy for a walk and what a blast we had 🤗

Both times I attempted to take a picture of Cody training he would begin to sneeze…

At first I thought a coincidence perhaps… I don’t think dogs can be allergic to cameras?!

After another attempt at getting a candid photo I soon joined up the dots! Cody was sneezing as a displacement behaviour.

He felt quite uncomfortable with the camera infront of him and was sneezing as his familiar but out of context behaviour to help make him feel a little less awkward 🥺

Sometimes a displacement behaviour isn’t always as obvious as a dog parading a toy around. Another great example is when my partners family Collie scratches her neck when she’s asked to sit and stay!

The arrival of a new baby can be one of the most exciting, overwhelming and life changing moments 👶 🍼 It’s a BIG DEAL for everyone including your furry companions!

For years they’ve been used to…
▪️Your undivided attention
▪️Free roaming their home
▪️Relaxing during quiet evenings after long walks
▪️Playing with all of their toys around the house

Suddenly…
▪️Time and attention is divided
▪️Change in routine occurs
▪️Strict boundaries are put into place
▪️Frequent unfamiliar loud noises
▪️Confusing toys/devices are all over the home

Understandably, problems can start to arise!

Pamela is a bright terrier cross, with a not so great start to life before being rescued ❤️‍🩹

She has done a wonderful job welcoming her adorable little baby brother into the home and loves him dearly but we do have a few important areas to work on.

We’re keen to get to work to maximise trust, harmony and happiness with in the house hold for everybody!

It’s true what they say, a problem shared really is a problem halved and it’s no different when it comes to our dogs…

Sharing the stress with a non judgmental and caring trainer should feel like a heavy weight lifting off of your very tired shoulders 🪶☁️

Shedding light on once dark and confusing areas, along with the reassurance that we will be there through every step of the way is music to most clients ears.

This sweet Spaniel is Ollie, who is part of my growing MK team. He’s been on a rocky road over the past couple of years but we’re working through one challenge at a time together.

He’s now mastered most of our indoor work (super clever boy!) so we’ve moved on to tackling the hurdles of the unpredictable outside world 🌎

We’ve got this Ollie 🤎

💔 Sadly Dior has been returned so we’re back fostering her again 💔

Do any of my followers have a 3 legged pug shaped hole in their home and heart for Dior?

She’s such a special girl who gives so much love but just seems to receive constant bad luck in return 😔

I’m determined to find her the right home, with people who will give her time to settle and truly understand her.

We really want to continue to foster different dogs in need but at this rate I‘m not sure if this is a sign for us to adopt her ourselves…

Problem solving is a super power that I’m constantly using when training 🧠

I first met Ruby, the sweetest cockapoo, under the impression that she needed a little help with basic toilet training after some regular accidents in the house💩 💩

Although after some digging and problem solving we soon realised this wasn’t the case at all!

Ruby knew the exact desirable place to go to the toilet and is more than capable of holding her wee’s and poo’s for reasonable time frames.

The problem lies in the space around her and sometimes if a stressful event (in her eyes) may of taken place before hand. When Ruby is left alone with too much space she can find it over whelming and will toilet in an attempt to self soothe, particularly when sleeping in the kitchen over night 🌚

So…we needed to some how make things small with out rebuilding the whole house of course!!

We started with a cosy crate in the kitchen over night and have now moved onto a bigger, more open pen. This evening (after a week of success) the pen will be opened up further to create a larger space for Ruby and will keep growing as long as she is comfortable.

Our goal is that we will be able to have a small divider across part of the kitchen, splitting it in half when Ruby is ready and feeling more secure 😌

3 weeks ago we welcomed little old lady Dior into our home as a foster. Her health was deteriorating in kennels and she needed somewhere to feel safe.

In such a short time she well and truly stole my heart and today she’s taken a piece of it with her to her new forever home🥺

This poem reminds me why we should always consider fostering and how amazing every fosterer out there is!!♥️

A Foster Dog Poem
by Diane Morgan

I am the bridge
Between what was and what can be.
I am the pathway to a new life.

I am made of mush,
Because my heart melted when I saw you,
Matted and sore, limping, depressed,
Lonely, unwanted, afraid to love.

For one little time you are mine.
I will feed you with my own hand
I will love you with my whole heart
I will make you whole.
I am made of steel.

Because when the time comes,
When you are well, and sleek,
When your eyes shine,
And your tail wags with joy
Then comes the hard part.

I will let you go -- not without a tear,
But without a regret.
For you are safe forever—
A new dog needs me now.

Sunday was a day for the duos ✌🏻

🐮🌸 Cow & Poppy demonstrated how far they’ve come over the past few weeks. We’ve added a little more to their training plan to help them grow in confidence both together and individually

🦖🎀 Rex & Lyla completed their 4 part puppy course with flying colours

Buddy you are such a brave boy!! Last night we took a leap and made a huge accomplishment in our training journey.

We wasn’t sure if it would be possible due to how reactive Buddy can be when people come into the home BUT WE DID IT 🥳

Buddy’s parents have been wanting the help from a dog walker for a while but haven’t been able to go forward due to his big feelings. We’ve now had two sessions with Ems Follow MyLead, putting in the time to build Buddy’s trust with Emma which is going well.

I still needed to know if Buddy could eventually accept someone coming into the home that wasn’t part of his family to take him out for a walk. I felt like I gained enough trust to try it out myself, so we went for it last night!!

We worked out the safest way possible and had a plan in place before I entered. We was all so extremely shocked as to how well Buddy handled the situation. All of our previous training helped to keep him calm and in no time he let me pop on his walking equipment and we was out the door enjoying a walk🥹

Lazy Sundays are currently a thing of the past for me over the next couple of months!!

The new year is always a busy period in the dog training world, much like the gym (guilty of that one myself!🫣)

I’m currently unable to take on anymore clients in the Bicester area so have set up a short waiting list.

I have ONE space available in the MK area for a client who can attend training during week days and in day time hours only.

Here’s some snippets from yesterdays shenanigans 📸

There’s nothing better than starting a training journey with guardians who have a complete open mind and are willing to accept change.

Change has to happen in order for progression to take place, with out it we would be stuck exactly where we left off.

Change can be scary, inconvenient and challenging, especially if you’ve been used to the same routine for years.

It’s not about instantly flipping everyone’s world upside down, but instead making small, impactful changes along the way.

Cassie, Denzil and Derek are 3 superb Chihuahuas who are going to be experiencing small amounts of change over the next few weeks, mainly revolving around food. How much we feed, how we feed and when we feed. This is to help build motivational reinforcers when training outside of the home.

Even by the end of our session after implementing some of these tiny changes, each dog was eager to work for a small piece of food which has never happened before. It was wonderful to see the trio become so motivated 🤗

If you couldn’t tell they’re all waiting for another reward from their humans hand!
