Some wonderful volunteers have created a Christmas raffle in support of the animals here. There are loads of great prizes including a meal for two at the Michelin starred Gauthier restaurant in Soho worth Β£400. Buying tickets will help us through the winter and could win you a nice treat! Please share far and wide :) πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’›

Thanks Lenore from for β€˜bringing me back to earth’ and reminding me of who pigs are and what they need from those of us who are caring for them in a sanctuary context πŸ’š

I’ve not been very vocal with my posts recently.. existing in what seems like a kind of limbo between TB tests has had a deep effect emotionally on me and the general atmosphere here. Next week we have to go through it all again.

Thankfully the animals are unaware of it all but as the connections between myself and them get ever deeper the reality of the world we have created around them and in which they are trapped, becomes ever more difficult to be at peace with.

We are still a long way short of our target for the fundraiser for the rebuilding of the pig houses and so I want to take this opportunity to ask again for your kind help in support of this - link to donate is in the bio

We said goodbye to Daffodil yesterday - one of the elders of the flock. She had passed during the night. I found her lying peacefully in the hedgerow that the sheep shelter in when out in the fields.

Like all of them, she had her very particular personality and habits.

There was always one spot in the winter barn/sheep shelter where she would choose to be and I would bring a handful of hay to her there at feeding times as she did not like to be in the push and shove around the main feeders. She knew exactly what she wanted!

We will miss her, but always a blessing when one of the animals passes without any interference from humans - grateful for that.

Fair-well Sweet Daffodil πŸ’šπŸŒˆ
