Hi everyone, I have no idea what’s happened to “her inside”
but I’m not complaining, myself ,Lottie and our guest buddies only going out for ..... well you know what!!! and a very quick splash in the pool and then back inside in the cool with our cooling gel pads. We’re having lovely evenings outside though, in fact we were out for a while at 4am (guest wanted a wee) and “she” sat in a chair while we searched for critters in the bushes and had a great time! In the meantime stay cool everybody. Love, Bodo and Lottie

Many of the Easter treats we like to eat can be dangerous to dogs and cats.

Easter eggs- Chocolate
🍫 Chocolate contains a chemical called theobromine which is toxic to animals. Symptoms of chocolate poisoning include vomiting, diarrhoea, panting, hyperactivity, twitching but can progress to dangerously fast heart rates and seizures.

Hot cross buns- raisins, currants and sultanas
Hot cross buns contain raisins, currants and sultanas (and grapes) are highly toxic, and even dogs who have eaten a very small amount are at risk of developing kidney failure. The truth is scientists don’t really understand this toxicity very well because some dogs can eat grapes/raisins etc without developing problems, where other dogs can eat one or two raisins and be seriously unwell. Better play on the safe side and avoid them in all pets!

Spring flowers- daffodils, tulips, lilies
🌷These flowers can be toxic to animals if the bulbs or flowers are ingested. They can cause upset tummies including vomiting, diarrhoea. Daffodils can cause wobbliness and seizures, and tulips can cause heart and breathing problems in severe cases.
Lilies are another flower very dangerous to cats, with every part being toxic, including the water they are sat in. often cats will brush past lilies, getting the pollen on their fur and subsequently washing it off when they groom. Lilies cause kidney failure, so best to avoid having them in your house.

If you catch your pet eating any of these things, or know they may have eaten it, contact your vet for advice urgently. We often need to intervene quickly to prevent any harmful symptoms from developing.

It's unacceptable to leave a dog in a car (even with the windows open and parked in the shade) in hot weather! ☀️

'Not long' is too long to leave them alone in a car. If it's 22°c outside - within an hour - the temperature in a car can reach an unbearable 47°c - Call 999 if you see a dog in distress!

Please SHARE this message as it is still happening! 🐶🚫🚗

As the old saying goes - Prevention is better than cure.
‘It's easier to stop something happening in the first place than to repair the damage after it has happened.’
Here at Puppy School we give you some easy to follow techniques to ensure your new pup is at ease with you being around their resources.
