Some of you may know already that my brother died unexpectedly two weeks ago… as a family we are very much in the early / raw stages of grief, so please accept my apologies if I am slow to get back to you.

Behind-the-scenes the horses are still getting the absolute BEST care we can give them, and they are my saviours in times like these…

As a focus & reason to look forward to brighter days, we’ve welcomed little Soot to our family 🥰 he has only *just* had his 8-week vaccinations, so please be patient & kindly leave your own dogs at home when visiting - just until he is properly protected from any possible illnesses 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

* PAYE or self-employed

Oxford Retirement Livery & Heathfield Park Equestrian (2 yards, 2 miles apart) are looking for motivated, responsible & caring team members to join our happy community.

We are looking for help with;

* Up to 6 stabled part-liveries
* Mucking out to a high standard
* Turning-out / bringing-in
* Rug changes, basic grooming & feeding

For the right candidate there is DIY livery space available on-site with fabulous facilities.

At home on the farm there is;

* Feeding & checking horses
* Compact tractor driven paddock sweeping (full training given)
* Simple medications & wellness checks
* Rug changes, basic grooming & plenty of fussing!

We need additional help 7 days a week thanks to our expansion so we can currently be flexible with timings / number of days etc. to suit the right candidates… HOWEVER we do have some attributes that are non-negotiable;

- MUST have own transport due to our locations (Islip, OX5 & Heathfield, OX5)
- MUST be able to consistently work one or more weekend days
- MUST have previous experience with horses & be willing to work towards sole-charge competency (if not already capable)
- Must TRULY care about the horses in our care & want the best for them…. It’s what underpins everything we do!

We have an existing fantastic team of friendly, committed horse-lovers with an enormous amount of knowledge, experience & fun to share. Alongside a great working environment, heated office, proper welfare facilities & holiday / pension / progression opportunities / excellent pay rates ALL available for the new members of our Equine Care Team.

(FT salary range: £25,0000 - £32,000 PA depending on experience & part-time pro-rata)

Please take *JUST A SECOND* to SHARE their post… a city based riding school is such a valuable resource for the local children… it’s so difficult to share the enrichment horses bring to our lives with the general public if there are none local to them! 🥰

That’s pretty normal (for us) - in 3 different types & in varying sized bales…

But THIS, oh this 😋 👃😋

This meadow hay is to die for - the smell is just 🤩😍 HEAVENLY 😍🤩

I’m almost looking forward to peeling off the sections on a dark day in February & inhaling that smell of pure summer 😍👃😍

A fabulous ☀️ sunshining ☀️ day at the wonderful Tackley Horse Show

The Boys helped with packing down the showground at the end of the day 🚜 whilst I *enjoyed* propping myself up on crutches & watched everyone having fun with their horses! 🥰

A real buzz to see all the children competing clutching their well-earned medals 😍

Such a privilege to be part of a brilliant show 🤩 one of very few traditional, something for EVERYONE shows on ALWAYS perfect ground 👌🏻

Retired from racing last summer & has spent the winter with us ‘maturing’ - now the grand old age of 5!

Making the most of our Theraplate treatments as he slipped in the field last week playing loony-tunes 🙄 and has sore hamstrings…

LOVE our TheraPlate - such a versatile piece of equipment for well-being.

Where have you been?! We’ve been waiting for you since Mother Nature tried to drown us last month 🙈

I would rather be looking at all those happy 🐴 faces, busily stuffing themselves with Dr Green 🌱🌱🌱🐽🐽🌱🌱🌱

But sadly the garden will be the extent of my view for a little bit.

I splatted off a young horse earlier in the week (supposedly my ‘afternoon off’!) & have fractured a vertebra & 2 bits of pelvis 😖 🤕

I’ll live! But I will likely take a little while to be fully back up to speed…
