Fly high Chico, there will never be another like you ❤️
We already miss you more than words can describe. You were the face of the cattery and took your receptionist duty incredibly seriously. You loved meeting everyone and welcoming them into our cattery or even jumping in their cars when you could (stealing dreamies was just an added bonus).
Chico you were the most handsome cat and had the biggest personality.
The cattery will not be the same without you 💔
We love you ❤️

Sadly this evening we had to say goodbye to Chico, sadly he was found to have a brain tumour and started deteriorating quite quickly. Thank you to everyone who gave him fuss and treats in his 10 years he spent with us.

Please report 🚨
We have two VERY large potholes right near our cattery entrance. Since Saturday we’ve had 3 cars pop their tyres!

The more people that report it, the more likely it is to be fixed… it’s very dangerous!

Our poor Chico has a very badly damaged leg, which is causing him a lot of pain so he’s on crate rest (in reception) 😢.
The vets are unsure how he damaged his leg, but they suspect he’s torn a ligament and around the injury is very arthritic.
Our poor boy might have to have an external frame fitted around his joint which will mean roughly 8 more weeks in the crate or there is a little bit of hope it may start to heal itself if he stays as calm as he is in the crate 🤞🏻
He’s being a superstar at staying calm and taking his meds but he’s got a long road ahead of him ❤️

Our inspectors noted “Portway Cattery remains very well-run establishment with a clear commitment looking after
the cats in their care. The business, fulfilled all requirements to achieved the higher
standards”.

🚨 Notice for drop offs tomorrow 🚨
All our departures left early today so all our chalets are ready for our arrivals tomorrow.
Please feel free to drop off anytime after 10am tomorrow (no extra charge). We would love to have everyone in and settled by 12noon so we can close our gates early for Christmas.
