An inspiring week away in Spain for New Year gave me the time I really needed to focus on my own art. Driving through the mountains and beautiful landscapes of olive groves, vineyards, almond orchards, and citrus fields fired my mind. Seeing the gorgeous colours, pretty fincas and casa de campos in such wonderful sunlight brought my imagination to life again. I will be concentrating more on my art to ensure these results continue to grow and develop further. It's so important that we keep learning as artists. Techniques and processes are paramount to good art. Subject matter is personal. I have found a very happy place to continue within....

Art related New Year's resolutions/plans for this year...
To focus on my own art more. Whilst I'm incredibly grateful to run my weekly workshops, I lose myself in planning and preparing for my lovely artists. Watching them develop their own styles and confidence makes me conscious of my own personal creative journey. I'm so fortunate to spend my time doing something I have always been passionate about with like-minded people. How about you? Do you have a promise that you would like to make to yourself?

Every time we create, we try to improve. We try to refresh our work. We challenge ourselves a bit more. We strive for results that we are proud of....
But mostly, we feel the love of painting, and we keep moving forward. The enjoyment is everything. Without it, the magic just doesn't appear.
I'm so proud of my workshops and those who join us regularly. Together, we encourage, explore our creativity, and support each other on our journey 😊

Christmas time in Gingerbread village. I hope a wonderfully happy day is in store for everyone. A very special thanks to the lovely peeps who join me each week on our creative journey. I'm always so pleased to paint gorgeous doggies for STAR furever babies rescue. Each portrait is an auction offer to raise much needed funds to care for and rehome these wonderful pups. We've been so fortunate to have had our Dolly and Poppy from them. It's great putting your art to good use raising money to help them to continue with their work. Have you thought about how you could contribute your art to help out a charity...

This is why I do what I do. Teaching, learning, experimenting, experiencing, discovering... together with a wonderful group of like-minded peeps who have a passion for their art. Our ongoing sessions of watercolour landscape painting focused this week on tonal values and the work of the renowned artist Gordon Dale (last picture is his). I also had the pleasure of spending time with him today and getting to know him and his insight into his life as an artist.

The wonderful Friday & Saturday group, well some of them anyway 😀 😄. We're currently working on a series of landscapes. Each week, we are trying out different styles and techniques to create lovely watercolour images. This week was a mega success as we all loved the simple semi abstract freestyle of working. Thanks as always to for being such a fabulous host.

A wonderful day was had with this great group. We worked together creating underwater images using acrylic inks and watercolour. A lengthy workshop learning new techniques. This is why I love what I teach. Individual creativity explores different methods of expressing our artistic passion. Get in touch if you would like to join us.

It's been lovely just painting for pleasure and prepping for my upcoming workshops. Flowers one day, landscapes the next. This Friday & Saturday we're back at the wonderful Wonky Pear art group in Mossley Congleton Cheshire. Then next week and . Then it's a couple of weeks, and our weekly art group set off to Marrakesh Morocco for our 2nd trip this year.
