Stallions come in to a huge bed, unlimited hay and plenty of room. They turnout together and are never kept on their own.

Like I haven't already spent enough this weekend on new saddles.....it's now new rugs as well 🤣

3 year old filly Robins Brae Chiquita. She is a lovely natured filly, and super island breeding on both sides sides. She has already taken Championships, and hopefully will take a few more!

Meant to have been a weekend of shows, but the weather put play to that yesterday!
Today we went to Ayrshire Shetland Pony group youngstock show with 5 ponies (although headed home with 6🤣)
Sophie of Brygarth 4th members yearling
Ardenbeag Mariposa 6th members 4 year old ans over. 3rd senior mare
Gardie Moonstep 3rd stallion and 1st broken colour senior
Midgarth Lowrie 6th open yearling and 1st coloured youngstock
Star of the show was homebred Duneaton Galaxy Edition
1st members 2 year old, 1st open 2 year old, junior miniature champion!
Thank you to the organisers for all their hard work in running the show. Hard work is always appreciated 👏

We take our time breaking in the young horses. We might not go as quickly as others, but I genuinely believe it pays off in the long run. The horses go at their own pace, and very rarely do we run in problems.
Nothing worse than pictures of a horse being ridden for the 2nd time, forced into an outline with white sweat coming out of it!

2nd of our foals has been weaned. Going to a lovely local family which will be so nice for us to see her grow up, as last year the shetlands went to Manchester, Wales and Devon!!

It's weaning time here, so that means the most important pony on the stud earns his keep.
Each foal gets weaned individually, so they get the full amount of time and handling put into them. They all start this process being accompanied by the wonderful Gizmo
Gizmo was a dummy foal who we bred. No idea how he survived but he did. He also has had numerous attempts at death since then! He has always not had the best health so we would never ever sell him, and he does such and important job in setting them foals up.
Here is baby Gizmo at 3 weeks old. Seems a long time ago

One week under saddle. Happy and relaxed, another few days going for short hacks then he is done. Backing and production done the right way 👌

Out of office now on ready for the Highland Show. We have going 2 stallions 1 mare 1 foal 1 colt 1 gelding 1 tup 2 ewes 1 lambs Fingers crossed for a good show and most importantly good weather!

First night this year every horse is outside ! What a great crop of foals we have had this year. All outside growing up as naturally as possible

Full list of foals from this year, that are all available. Skewbald filly, Duneaton Firefly, to make 32/33 inches. Gardie Moonstep x Hjaltland Pozie (terrgeles denzel. Prize winner already Bay colt, Duneaton Favourite to make 16.2 by Outlaw x Fairlea Amasin (Robin de la maison) Black colt Duneaton First Drift, to make 16.2/3 by CLF Tokyo Drift x Fifi Latina (Saint Alizee) Bay filly Duneaton Fantastia, to make 16.2/3 by Outlaw x Cardento Symphony (Cardento) About half way through covering, if the mares play ball

Still don't have a stable name for my black beauty yet, although Duneaton First Drift will be his official name. I just don't like anything enough to settle on it?

When you are 2 days old, but already love a scratch

Yesterday's arrival, first of the ponies Gardie Moonstep x Hjaltland Pozie Duneaton Firefly Now a rest until the end of May! Although coverings have started again, and 2025 babies are being created ❤️

1 day old and look at that canter 😍 Will be looking for a new 🏡 at weaning. Would love a competitive home as just look at him!! Duneaton Favourite aka Pringle
