🐾We have done quite a bit of CPD this year. These courses were created by a Vet - Dr.Sophie Bell and I would recommend them to any Dog Walker / Boarder - infact, anyone who has a dog can benefit hugely from these affordable courses. 💓🐶

You can try this at home if your dog is scared of the noise of fireworks... 🐾💕

If your dog is bothered by fireworks try playing the sound of Japanese Taiko Drumming. The rhythmic noise seems to camouflage the bangs better than classical music (based on my highly non-scientific study of one!).

It’s made a huge difference to Charlie who is not a fan of fireworks!

🐾💕 We will be walking early this evening, before it gets dark, to hopefully avoid any early fireworks that will be set off. 🎇

🐾Classic FM goes up on full volume, the curtains get closed, the dogs get a bone or a yak chew - we try to make it so that our dogs simply can not hear anything, though it's not easy and I'm sad that we still have to do so much to protect animals and people that are impacted by loud noises and the smell of the fireworks.

Clyde doesn't seem to bother with the noise but Strawberry gets very upset so I'll pop a snood over her wee ears to help her and make her a den. 🐾

If your dog does become upset, DO comfort your dog. 💓

🐾👍🐶 Thanks to one of our lovely clients for showing us a new area - we ventured into new territory today and went high!

🐾We only walk over the weekends when we have dogs boarding, but we often open it up and see if anyone would like to come along when we have a space and today 'Ziggy Moo' joined us!

Now for a rest before we have to go out again! 😴💕

💕💐🐾Poor wee Malcolm hasn't been well and has taken some time out from walking with us ( he's doing well, don't worry!).

It sounds like he's been rather, erm, ' demanding' and lapping up all of the attention at home.

Here is Malcolm, living his best life out with his Mum and Dad on one of their carriages. 😂

He's such a wee character. Here he is barking away like he owns the world ....😂

🖤It's a bit of a rush at this time of year to get our two out before dark, and, as the nights draw in, it will soon be impossible here in wild Scotland!

Ensuring that your dog can be seen is super useful for other dogs and their owners - I know I get a fright when I come across a dog in the dark where it's impossible to see the dogs body language! Did you know that dogs find it more stressful to be out in the dark?

🐾What lights do you use? I have added the array of lights that we have here, at Biggar Hounds HQ! You won't miss our two monkeys!

With all this lovely wet weather, I asked our clients if they had a dryrobe for their dogs to leave them out for us so that their dog wouldn't be sitting damp in the van ( even after a towel dry, some dogs are still damp).

Some of clients didn't have one, and bought one...

Here's Lottie in hers - apparently she enjoys wearing it and won't let her Mum take it off!
