Is aggression a natural fear response in rabbits?
Simply put, no.
As a species they fall heavily in the flight response to trauma category.
What happens when they aren't able to flee?
Things begin to escalate. If presented with repeated causes of trauma, a rabbit can become further withdrawn, or try to defend itself.
The less a rabbits body language and signals are listened to, the more the rabbit will seek ways to receive the desired response. Pressure results not just in diamonds, but also snapped elastic bands.
Bevallig has learned that launching and biting hard gets people out of his space and he can be left alone. Because all the years of cues he's given and asked for haven't been listened to. But this one has worked.
