Gorgeous girl Chirpie found her forever home last week and is doing very well 🥰

"Just a quick update on Chirpie!
She’s home safe and sound, enjoying a lovely meal.
She slept in the car the whole way! :)

She’s had an explore around a bit and has decided she loves Sarah’s lap. Her chirps are the most adorable sound!

We are so pleased she’s here with us. Thank you for the opportunity to take care of her."

Meet Chungus!

This charming boy is 2 years old and has a lot of love to give. He arrived at Foal Farm due to his previous owner having allergies and he has settled in with no problems.

Chungus is very sweet, and will lick your hand to politely ask you to pet him. He is confident with people and loves a fuss, however we’ve noticed that he isn’t keen on being picked up.

This lovely lad is currently on his own but we would love for him to find a companion to spend his days with. If you have a single female bunny in need of a friend, then Chungus could be the boy for you! He will need someone that can give him lots of attention, and he will need an environment full of toys, tunnels and enrichment to keep him occupied.

If you would like to give Chungus the forever home he deserves, then please fill out an application form! Thank you.

Meet Clover, Aspen and Rowan 🥰

These 3 siblings were found abandoned in a field along with their mum in May last year when they were only 8 weeks old. The family of cats were seeking shelter amongst the bushes and relying on members of the public to leave out food for them to eat.

Clover is a very playful girl, she can be shy initially but with time and patience she does come around and really enjoys a fuss. Once she is comfortable with you she will head butt your hand, politely asking for more strokes, but it's on her terms when she feels ready!

Aspen is a gentle boy, once he is comfortable with you he is happy to be picked up and fussed over. He enjoys sitting on a lap, but only once he has built up trust with you.

Rowan is a shy boy and takes his time getting to know new people before he can fully trust you. The key to bonding with Rowan is food, he is a different cat at feeding times and will often zoom around the room with excitement for his dinner! Rowan enjoys playing with his siblings during the day and snoozing alongside his siblings in his favourite spot, which is always at the top of his tower.

These lovely cats are now 9 months old and are seeking a home together. They haven't had the best start in life, having been let down by people at such a young age and we would love to see them enjoying a home life.

If you can offer them a loving home, please complete an online application.

Meet Pirate 🥰

Pirate is just a youngster who is between 4-5 months old. He is in foster with a staff member and proving to be a really sweet lad ♥️🐾

He is really friendly and particularly loves the ladies! He loves to give kisses and sit on your lap. Pirate is a little wary of men and at times he may back away and bark. He is just worried and you can see that he so wants to say hello but he isn’t always brave enough to. Given some time (and treats!) he comes round quickly.

Pirate hasn’t had much socialisation which is where this issue could stem from. He needs his new family to socialise him as well as carry out basic training.

Pirate has already had a lot of change in his short life and really needs stability now. He has been doing well with toilet training and can be left for short periods of time as well.

Any adopters must be committed to the training and socialisation that Pirate needs to help him grow up into a well balanced adult dog. He is very active and full of energy, he loves being out and about but also likes to chill indoors.

Pirate would benefit from having adopters who are home for most part of the day. He is currently living with 2 dogs and he loves them, although he can get a little over the top so play time has to be controlled. He could definitely live alongside another dog 🥰

If you can offer this sweet boy his forever home, please apply online.

"It’s been just over a week since we brought Coleen home, and we thought you’d enjoy an update. We’ve renamed her Libby (short for "Little Bee"), which fits her perfectly because she’s constantly buzzing around, full of energy and mischief. She’s settling in wonderfully. It feels like we’ve gained her trust already, as she acts like a little toddler most of the time – hanging around us, wanting to be involved in everything, and making her presence known. She seems to love her new home too, always eager to come back after outings (though she is less keen to go out when the weather’s cold and wet!).

Libby has adapted surprisingly well to urban life. She’s a people-magnet, making friends all over the place. Cars and noise don’t seem to faze her at all, which has been a pleasant surprise. House training is going well – she’s already learned to get our attention and sit at the top of the stairs by the front door when she needs to go out. Of course, there are still the occasional accidents, usually when we miss her cues or when it’s raining. Let’s just say, she does not approve of cold and wet weather – and frankly, we can’t blame her. Watching her tiptoe across a damp pavement is like seeing a diva avoid a puddle at an awards show.

She keeps us laughing constantly, especially when she plays with her reflection in the big bedroom mirror. Watching her zoom around and interact with "the other dog" is comedy gold. She could already have her own sitcom at this point.

The only real challenge we’ve encountered so far is other dogs during walks. Poor Libby gets very nervous, tucking her tail between her legs and barking at them. We’re pretty sure she’s saying, "Stay away, I’m not ready for new friends yet!" This is going to be our biggest hurdle, and we’re planning to seek professional help to give her the confidence she needs with socialisation.

All in all, Libby is thriving, and we’re loving every moment with her. Thank you so much for everything you did to care for her and prepare her for her new life. She’s truly one of a kind, and we are fully committed to giving her all the love, care, and happiness she deserves."

Meet Bella ❤

Beautiful Bella has been with us at Foal Farm since July last year, and we can’t understand why she is yet to find the perfect home. 😢

She is an adorable 4 year old Staffie crossbreed. She is a dinky little lady! Bella is sadly another dog abandoned with no owner looking for her.

On arriving at Foal Farm, Bella was initially a little shy but day by day she’s come out of her shell. She is a very friendly girl with people, she’s affectionate, loving and lots of fun! She loves to play and wants to please in training, she has so much potential.

Bella can be unsure around some dogs and has shown some reactivity on the lead. Bella needs adopters who will work on socialising her and building her confidence around other dogs.

We are seeking an older family home for Bella, she has so much love to give, we have no doubt she’ll be a wonderful addition to the right family.

If you can offer this little lady a loving home, please apply online.

Not the news we ever like to have to share 😥
We have recently lost two of our special large animals 💔

Chase
On January 7th we had to say our goodbyes to our beautiful gentle horse “Chase”.
Chase came to Foal Farm in October 2016, and we gratefully got to spend eight wonderful years with him. He was a kind, gentle, cheeky boy who spent most of his time with his girlfriends, Serenity and Spirit - once together they loved giving the staff the run around.

Chase was always good with vets and farriers - he was a star pupil and a great example of a kind cob. Here at Foal Farm, he is going to be so missed by everyone including sponsors and supporters, he will never be forgotten.
Chase was 30 years old. RIP beautiful gentle boy 💙

Snowy
Snowy came to Foal Farm in March 2023 with his partner Hannah.
Another lovely, gentle, kind animal. Snowy and Hannah fitted into the herd very quickly with no problems.

Snowy loved to be fussed and groomed, in fact, so much that he would get a tad jealous if you were caught grooming someone else! His favourite pastime was sunbathing! We sadly lost Snowy at the end of December and the remaining herd quickly rallied around to take care of Hannah.
Snowy was approximately 12 years old. RIP Snowy 💙

Brothers Fred and George were born at Foal Farm in April last year. Both had some medical issues which delayed their rehoming, however we found the perfect home for them just before Christmas. Here is an update from their adopters:

"Both have settled in well. Fred is still a little nervous but still likes attention on his terms. George just likes attention most of the time. They are happy chasing each other around the house mainly in the morning and evening. Their eyes are OK and we give them a little wipe on a daily basis. Both are eating well and they love the occasional Dreamie as a treat. Although they have their own room where they sleep at night they are now happy to sleep elsewhere in the day. Both were a bit scared by the TV at first but now sit and watch it especially if there's wildlife on."

Meet Merlin, Rusty, Daisy, Constance, Mildred, Margaret, Phyllis & Agnes!

Merlin is a 1.5 year old hybrid cockerel who was found abandoned with his brother last year. He looks after his hens very well and is generally well-behaved, however if he feels threatened Merlin will definitely let you know.

Rusty & Daisy came to Foal Farm in April as their owners felt they could do with some more company. Daisy is a 5 year old Light Sussex and Rusty is a 5 year old Goldline. These two hens are clearly very close and you will always find them side-by-side.

Constance, Mildred, Margaret, Phyllis & Agnes are 3 year old Rhode Island Reds. These lovely ladies were brought to Foal Farm in August when their previous owner didn’t want them anymore. They’re such characters! They love to forage through the grass and go crazy when you bring them mealworms.

We are looking for adopters that can give this group the enrichment and attention the need. If you feel you could give this flock a loving home, then please fill out an application form! Thank you.

Welcome to Foal Farm Animal Rescue

Friends of Animals League was formed in Biggin Hill over 50 years ago. Originally created to care for unwanted dogs, Foal Farm has expanded to provide sanctuary to small animals, cats, horses and farm animals. At Foal Farm all animals are seen as equal and in addition to rescuing animals we also promote animal welfare and vegetarian/vegan life choices.

We operate a strict NON-DESTRUCT POLICY. Animals available for rehoming are always vaccinated, neutered and microchipped before leaving Foal Farm; any animal unsuitable for rehoming is free to live the rest of their natural lives as a permanent resident.
