Goodnight, Dear Sweet Ginseng 💔
If you have ever visited Foal Farm’s main office, you will have probably met Ginseng.
Ginseng came to Foal as a stray in 2007. She was homed then returned; this happened three times until we decided “no more”. Her returns were mainly due to naughty toilet habits! Basically, she was too posh to use the litter tray; she would rather do her business in private - usually under beds or on chairs etc!
Ginseng decided to live in our main office. She never toileted anywhere except on puppy pads (much to our delight!) She ruled this office with an iron paw! She sent many emails and smacked many customers. We never ever argued with her - she was the boss and that was that! We knew our place!
This ginger girl had the most amazing character. When she needed a health check and makeover it was off to the vets for a light sedation. She would get picked up, brought back, placed gently back into her bed on the counter and wake with no idea what had happened. She would yawn, stretch and proceed with some Dreamies and her favourite food, looking at us suspiciously (we avoided all eye contact)!
Recently, she had slowed down and her health was rapidly declining. We knew that her time wasn’t too far away, and we dreaded it.
That time came on Monday 7th October.
Ginseng was at least 21 years old. This office will never be the same. I’m sure you all know the feeling of staring at items belonging to lost loved ones: beds, scratch post etc. the list goes on. We will be finding little bits of ginger fur forever and a day. Amazing how something so small can leave such a huge void.
Goodbye feisty little ginger girl (AKA Bing Bong)
We will miss you so ###

Tilly in her new home
This is the moment gorgeous girl Tilly arrived in her forever home last month.
"She is such a sweetie! Loves foraging around in the garden - always on the scent of something! Loves her toys, especially her new monkey. She has been enjoying lots of cuddles. It feels like she was always meant to be here"
Good Luck to the swimmers today!

Foal Farm Dogs Looking for a Home
To begin the new year our dog team are urging you, our followers to help our long-term residents find their forever home. Some have been with us for over a year so deserve to find a permanent loving home.
These dogs have found their way to Foal Farm and their previous experience of life has left its mark upon them. They have been significantly let down and it is up to us to help repair the damage done.
Unfortunately, those who chose to bring these lives into our world have not seen these dogs into their forever homes as a reputable breeder would. They have been left with no training or socialisation and expected to get on with it. When they have shown fear, they have been given up on or abandoned. It is up to us now to find them forever homes.
Every member of the dog team would have taken these dogs home if possible, but due to their own circumstances have been unable to do so. They hold out hope that a happy ending can be found for them. Some of these dogs have proven that they can adjust to a home environment comfortably, after being homed but sadly returned to us through no fault of their own.
In the time they have been under Foal’s wing, our dog team have got to know each dog and we see very affectionate, smart, and loyal dogs and each sadly, carrying an element of fear with them. Due to past trauma, they each have quirks yet, they are all trainable. Reactions are caused by triggers and with the duration some of these dogs have been with us, we are able to determine what these triggers are. They are all trainable dogs; they have proven this in their time with us and we can only imagine their full potential within a loving and understanding home.
We will be promoting one of our long-term dogs each week and we are asking you to share their plea as a potential home could be on your friends list.
Our dog team are here to offer support to these dogs throughout the adoption process and once they are homed. Any adopter who offers their home and hearts to any o
