Hello everybody - I hope you are all staying well during the COVID-19 crisis.
In response to the current situation, we are making some temporary changes to our usual practices. Firstly, the planned price increase for April will be delayed at least until things are back to normal.
Food: Due to food shortages and restrictions, I am asking owners to supply wet food for the duration of their cats' stay. The same applies if you want your cats to have specific dry food. At present I am still able to offer our usual dry food mix; if the situation changes I'll let you know.
Handovers: For the time being, you'll be met at the gate to hand over your cats, observing social distancing rules. Until things get back to normal, please don't bring any bedding, cushions or scratching posts with you. As you know, there is a scratching post in each run and we supply comfy, good quality bedding and toys.
Cats and coronavirus: There have been scare stories on the web and social media regarding cats and coronavirus. Please don't be scared of your cats! There's no evidence at all to suggest that they can contract COVID-19 or transmit it to you*. If you've searched the web, you may have read about feline coronavirus or FCoV; FCoV has been common in the cat population for many years and, while it shares some effects with other coronaviruses, of which there are many (including the common cold), it isn't a zoonotic disease and cannot transmit to humans.
*viruses can, however, remain on surfaces for a varying length of time so to be on the safe side, please don't pet other people's animals!
