Today we had the pleasure of seeing the adorable George in our Middlesbrough branch, where he came to see our vet Claire 💙
George has been diagnosed with Cushing’s disease, which is causing some hair loss! He’s in great hands and getting all the care he needs!
✨ What is Cushing’s disease?
Cushing’s (or hyperadrenocorticism) is a condition where the body produces too much cortisol — a hormone that helps regulate metabolism, stress, and the immune system.
Common signs include:
🐶 Increased thirst and urination
🍽️ Increased appetite
😴 Lethargy
🐾 Thinning skin or hair loss
📈 A pot-bellied appearance
With the right treatment and monitoring, many dogs live long and happy lives with Cushing’s ❤️

We had the pleasure of seeing Blu, the gorgeous XL Bully today for his 6-month health check as part of our Healthy Pet Club plan! 💙
Blu’s in great shape! big, happy, and healthy and his owner is doing a fantastic job keeping him safe.
We also had a chat about firework anxiety, with Bonfire Night coming up 🎆🐶 and he collected his next 3 months of prescription flea and worm.

Bonfire Night is Coming, let’s keep your pets safe and calm 🎆
As fireworks season approaches, many of our furry friends find this time of year stressful and frightening. At Bridge Vets, we want to help you prepare so your pets feel safe, secure and calm.
🐶 Dogs:
Walk them early, before fireworks begin
Keep curtains closed and put on the TV or radio for background noise
Create a quiet, cosy space where they feel secure such as a crate (or in Lucas’s case- his m**s wardrobe!)
🐱 Cats:
Keep them indoors after dark
Provide hiding places and a litter tray inside
Try calming diffusers or sprays
🐹🐰 Small Pets:
Bring hutches indoors or cover with thick blankets to muffle noise
Add extra bedding for burrowing and comfort
💊 Need something stronger than natural remedies?

Meet Sven, the gorgeous Oriental Shorthair with a personality as sleek as his coat! 😻 Sven came in for his routine vaccinations and was an absolute superstar throughout. 💉💪
He’s also now a proud member of our Healthy Pet Club, meaning he’ll be receiving his flea and worm treatments every month, all part of keeping this handsome boy happy and healthy! 🐛❤️

Gorgeous squishy Toshi came in today for his post-op check with our nurse Chloe after his recent castration and we're happy to report he's healing beautifully💙
Castrating (neutering) your cat isn’t just about preventing unwanted litters, it has real health and behavioral benefits too!
✅ Reduces the risk of certain cancers
✅ Helps prevent spraying and marking
✅ Less roaming = fewer fights and injuries
✅ Lowers the number of stray and unwanted cats

Today at our Middlesbrough branch Romeo stole the show! 🧡
This gorgeous boy came in for his castration, and it’s safe to say he stole all of our hearts while he was here! 😻 Romeo was a total sweetheart and handled everything like a little champ.
So why is castrating (neutering) your cat so important?
✔️ Helps reduce roaming and the risk of injury
✔️ Prevents unwanted litters and reduces overpopulation
✔️ Lowers the risk of spraying and certain health issues
✔️ Can improve behaviour and reduce aggression
