Busy day in the yard but always a delight to have the muck heap emptied!

All the horses ridden today - could with just a quick burst of rain though, a sand / rubber school gets really dusty & deep when it’s this dry!

Yard blown & swept, school edges manually brought in & graded! Lovely cool evening for jobs!

(Excuse rotten / broken fencing - landlord not tenant responsibility!)

To the person who stole Harrison’s scooter at David Broome Event Centre yesterday, you might want to pop by my lorry & steal the charger too! I’m told they are tricky to find!!

If you ‘accidentally’ find it in your lorry when u unpack - please contact me!

It’s easily identifiable, as the lights & kick stand have been removed. It also has a bright blue phone holder on the handlebars!

Recommendations for someone to fit & connect up a washing machine & dishwasher in a Horsebox locker. (Locker is made for them, though may need a support brace welded underneath locker to support additional weight)
Ideally to be completed on-site in rural Billingshurst.

Harrison had a horrific fall at Coombelands Equestrian on Thursday. He rode a lovely round on paddy until the last jump when Paddy and H decided to take a flyer but on different strides. (Below 4 sequential photos of how it ended)

Initially, we thought the damage was superficial to his face but unfortunately a CT revealed that he has 2 very small mid-spine vertebrate fractures. As they are stable & small the consultant doesn’t want to interfere with them.

However, what we initially thought were just cuts inside his mouth from him biting his lip & tongue turned out to be his lower face being detached inside. His jaw & nerves were exposed and they had stitch the entire span of his jaw line & has a drain coming out of his chin.

Hopefully his drain will come out this morning and we can go home to start the long recovery.

Paddy has some superficial sand burn on his chest & is generally sore. We have the vet & physio booked to give him a good check over.

Harrison KEP hat has done exactly was it was meant to do! It took all the impact of the fall and saved his head! The consultants can’t believe that he hasn’t got any broken bones in his face!

Bearing in mind this hot weather - please keep your arms fully covered - if Harrison hadn’t taken off his jacket he wouldn’t also have horrific sand burn on his arms!

A big thank you to everyone who helped / offered help / asked after Harrison - we are truly grateful! (If you ever need me - please just ask!)

(Thanks to LRG Photography for the photos, which were a great help to the doctors)

The days & weeks are just flying by!

Lovely to be competing in glorious weather at the FEI last week at Wellington Riding School. Sadly, no frillies but both boys, Paddy & Bill enjoyed their mini-break!

The humans - Georgie, Carl, Harrison & I - managed to get some scrabble, tack cleaning, cycling & eating into our break too!

The highlight was on Friday, when I (Nikki) skulked off to Guildford for my HGV driving test - Passed with only 1 minor!

Changeable weather at David Broome Event Centre for the FEI 1*! Drove in but needed a tow to get out!

Great result for both boys & Harrison in the Grand Prix. It was a nail biting jump off!

H & Bill were in first place & Paddy in 2nd place for the majority of the class but the second to last jump off rider pipped them off the top spot by only 0.12 of a second!!!!!

Both boys were looking super cute in their Butet tack & Kentucky rugs, numnahs & fly fringes & Veredus Grand Slam tendon & fetlock boots.
