✨IMPORTANT NOTICE✨
We have always endeavoured to keep our rates low, however, due to the ongoing rise in our running costs, we hope you understand the need to increase our boarding fees for next year, whilst still trying to keep them as reasonable and competitive as possible.
From 1st January 2025 the price of boarding will be £20 per night for one dog and £35 per night for two dogs. If you have already made bookings for next year, please note these will be charged at the increased rate.
As ever we look forward to caring for your four-legged friends!

We are excited to announce that the Dunrunnin annual Village Fete and Fun Dog Show (all breeds welcome) will be held on Sunday 21st July from 11am-4pm in the Pavilion Playing Field, London Road, West Kingsdown TN15 6BZ. There will be stalls selling amazing gifts and doggie goodies, refreshments, games and fun galore! We will post more details nearer the time, but please mark the date in your diary as we’d love to see you all there!

What fun we had hosting the Charity Fun Dog Show at the British Country Show this bank holiday weekend! It was lovely to meet all the dogs, old, young, big and small, they were all so well behaved. We managed to raise an amazing £600 so thank you to all our supporters, everyone who entered the show and to our volunteers who helped everything run so smoothly. Also thank you to Ian and Barbara for giving up so many weekends (including this one) to run our Dunrunnin stall raising awareness and funds for our beautiful hounds. Special thanks to Mandy for these fantastic photos 🥰

Dunrunnin will be hosting the Charity Fun dog show at the British Country Show on Sunday 26th and Monday 27th May, at Wings of the Morning Field, 1 London Road, Wrotham, Kent TN15 7NS (10 minutes from the kennels). It would be great to see any of our supporters there flying the flag for greyhounds, and maybe entering a few classes 😊🐾

So this is our gorgeous Crumble, a 3 year old boy who is a little bit lacking in the tail department but beautiful nonetheless. Crumble is one of our longest residents and loves nothing more than putting a paw on each of your shoulders and going in for a big kiss - obviously we don’t condone this sort of jumping up behaviour (but don’t tell anyone, we secretly love a hug 😉). Crumble’s next favourite thing is routine, and boy does he LOVE a bit of predictability. Not a fan of being taken out of his comfort zone and does get a bit anxious when it happens, but he will put his brave boy pants on for you if you have some patience and give him some reassurance (and a big cuddle obvs). We ♥️ Crumble.

Hi all - Our next monthly Group Walk will be on Sunday 21st April at Trosley Country Park, Waterlow Road, Vigo Village, Gravesend DA13 0SG. Please meet in the Overflow car park (turn left as you enter the park) at 10.30am for a 10.45am start.
Everyone is welcome, and it’s a great opportunity for new adopters to meet others and for the greyhounds to socialise.
A gentle reminder, this is an on-lead walk, no retractable leads please, and don’t be afraid to use a muzzle if you think your dog may be reactive, as we do meet other breeds.

We are very proud to announce Sally Lindsay, Actor, Writer, Producer and Dog Lover as a patron for our charity.
Sally said - “Having been introduced to this wonderful breed and learning about the work that Dunrunnin do to promote these beautiful, loving dogs as pets, and also, seeing the time and effort that the team put in to finding the hounds their forever homes, it was an easy yes when I was asked to be a patron and offer my support to this hard-working, friendly charity.
I was also delighted to hear that Davey, my Hungarian Puli rescue, has been given the title of honorary greyhound!”

Today we said sad goodbye to Megan Bedford, 8 years ago when Megan first came to the kennels for her college work experience she had no clue that she would go on to become an invaluable part of our team.

As she grew in knowledge and confidence it was clear for everyone to see the kindness, love and passion Megan has for both the dogs and the Dunrunnin community as a whole 🥰

As Megan moves on to the next new adventure in her life we wish her all the best and we know she is going to succeed at what ever she chooses to do next!

Here’s our beautiful brindle 6 year old boy Mondee. Despite homing nearly 20 dogs in the last month or so sadly Mondee was not one of the chosen ones. He now holds the title none of them really want of being our longest resident, coming up for 9 months with us. When he first came to us Mondee was a bit stressy and could be quite worried on his walks. However, over the last couple of months he has been taken under the wing of our volunteer Keith who has been taking him out regularly to just about every country park in the area, getting him used to new sights, sounds, dogs and humans. He travels well in the car and has been lapping up all the attention he gets (he’s a very handsome boy you know!), loving the sausages at the cafes and his confidence has really grown. He’s even had a day out at the seaside, followed by a sleepover at Keith’s where he was apparently “good as gold”. We really think Mondee is ready to find his own forever home after waiting so long and learning how to be a very good boy. An adult only home would work best for Mondee with confident humans, able to pass on that confidence to him when he looks for reassurance. He’s also happy to go on longer walks than the average greyhound, so any hikers out there, he could be the one you’ve been looking for! If you think you could be the person to make Mondee’s dreams come true then please do get in touch, or feel free to share this post far and wide - thank you! 🥰🐾🥰🐾

Hi everyone, yes you’re right they are not greyhounds, but for attention only.
After over 50 years with horses I have now made the difficult decision to hang up my riding boots. Obviously within that time I have accumulated a lot of stuff, which I have decided to sell and donate ALL the money to Dunrunnin. So for all you horsey people out there, this is your opportunity to grab a bargain.
Everything is full size including 3 English leather saddles, bridles, saddle cloths, bits,and the list will go on, it’s all second hand but still has plenty of life left in them. It all has to go so just make an offer on either single items or the whole lot. Please remember the money is going to help all those lovely greyhounds waiting for their forever home.

With so many charities in need due to the post-covid environment and financial crisis, it’s impossible to help everyone. So, we’re going to focus our efforts in supporting one worthy cause.

We are looking to support a registered charity that:
- Is a small independent charity
- Rehomes or supports the rehoming of greyhounds/sighthounds
- Has been in operation for more than 5 years
- Has a proven record of utilising donations in the best interest of the dogs
- Has a proven record of supporting their staff and volunteers
- Is supportive and inclusive of equal rights, minority groups and mental health
- Does not support or promote dominance/aversive training techniques
