WELCOME TO THE PACK FOZZIE.
Today, we introduced Fozzie to the pack. Every time you bring in a new dog, the most important thing is to make sure they understand the rules of a pack walk.
Building up a relationship with them and using the other pack members to help enforce leadership position.
Fozzie did awesome for his 1st day, and it's easy to say he is now welcome on the pack walks.
RECALL & RELATIONSHIP.
When you thought of doing a recall test with Bella but she beat you to the punch and is already recalling.
However, she also proved another point on how I perceived dog training, I don't want to have to keep telling the dogs to recall.
Part of balance training is your dog knowing what to do and just doing it. My job is to make sure they make the right choices as the pack leader, always staying in control of the energy and balance of the pack.
So ask yourself:
How strong is your relationship with your dog?
Do you have to keep repeating commands?
Then you may not have a training problem but a relationship & communication problem.
ROUTINE.
Remember, it's not WHEN you do something it HOW you do something.
Create the routine & then become consistent in doing it.
Training is about teaching them how to do something and then you as the owner enforcing it.
Hope this helps.
Quick 5 Minute Live Video On The Wednesday Pack Walk.
Pack Walk.
My social media has been quiet lately with me only posting the odd story. A lot happens in the dog world behind the scenes that always makes me adjust and adapt to this ever changing world.
It is true I have dropped dog walking and only walk a select number of dogs. This is for me and my way of staying connected to the dog mentality and peace it brings me.
While we work to change the website and other things, we have been busy with clients and training. As I always say, never judge anything by social media.
8 dogs on pack before I head out to cases, I may start recording some work again, but I won't pull focus away from clients for a video on Instagram.
WORD RECALL WITH APOLLO.
Just me and the big man on today's walk. When I am doing a walk with just one dog, I like to practice recall.
Today we was testing the verbal instead of the physical (lead) testing if he's listening when I asked for something.
Also, he can do a direct recall now, not an in-direct one with the finish command coming into place.
Freedom comes with knowing the outcome of commands you train, then to test them in environments.
Dog Walking should have training aspects attached.
HOLIDAYS!!
So, just to restate the video, I'll be off from the 22nd of August until 30th August, guys.
Me & Ann will be in Scotland after 2 years, finally taking a holiday and also Wednesday 1st time going on holiday with us & Ann's first time in Scotland.
I'll also be attending the @roddy_kirk_be_pack_leader & @larrykrohn seminar over the first 3 days.
The last time this was held was many years ago before I was a trainer, and also, when I was flat broke working in McColls so being able to attend this time is a great feeling.
I'll be messaging all my pack dogs and clients closer to the time to remind you of my holidays. 🤟🏾🤟🏾
BIG D & BIG B
Crusing down the street with Big B. Patrolling to make sure all dogs are safe on the Wirral.
Or me and Big B have just spotted a food truck, and we're hungry.
KEEP THEM DOGS SAFE!
Apollo finished up our walk enjoying the crate fan we bought to test out.
The heat is hitting 27 degrees today, which is dog killing weather guys. Every year, I see people walking dogs on pavement that you could cook an egg on.
Keep those dogs cool and safe.
UPDATE!!
So everything is covered in the video. Group Class will be on this week, guys, so the location will be announced by Sunday.
If you have any questions please shoot me a message and we will get you sorted.
QUICK UPDATE.
So, just to go over what I've said. I will be off next week and only doing my walks. As Ann will be coming home on the Sunday Afternoon.
The week after, I'll probably be on reduced hours still, but I will let everyone know closer the time.
Have a great week, and I will see you all soon 🤟🏾🤟🏾🤟🏾
