This isn’t a post of ‘woe’ it’s a post of integrity which unfortunately one of my customers of nearly 3 years doesn’t have 😢 I won’t be going into full detail but I will say they have ‘sh*t on me big style!’.
Her dog was booked 21/12-6/1/25 and it was booked a year ago due to family circumstances not allowing them to go on holiday 2024. So I agreed to move it forward to this year without a deposit, because I TRUSTED her.
More fool me because I have been fed lies and been threatened by one of her family members. They said, she was in hospital, the customer said she was at home. All in all the customer won’t pay the deposit or even contribute. She has blocked me from all social media and her sister has threatened to ruin my business, all because I asked her sister to honour the deposit at least.
£750 loss of earnings, turning down other customers to accommodate this customer who will no longer be part of ‘Paws for a Rest’. It has truly upset me and to receive a phone call from the sister on Christmas night didn’t bode well, telling me to ‘bore off’ basically. Yes I sent text, WhatsApp messages, messenger asking to let me know what was going on.
I was brought up to ‘treat people how you want to be treated!’. Unfortunately, I’ve learnt that leaves you open to be ‘sh*t on!’ 😢
So, a hard decision and one I never wanted to implement, but I need to protect myself, my business and my dogs.
Moving forward the ‘meet and greet’ will continue as normal. Then it will be the 2 hour play and stay if all has gone well.
If all parties are happy a deposit of 50% will be required within 7 days of the M&G to secure the dates. Finally, 7 days before your dog 🐶 is staying with me the rest of monies will need to be paid.
This will be for all customers moving forward and starts from 01/01/25.
