This may not look like much or the most exciting thing but these photos show amazing progress - puppies and owners settling in a stimulating environment that represents fun. Helping pups to target bedding and then lie relaxed whilst we sit relaxed is an absolute must to ensure we can go out and about or have visitors come not our home. Whether it’s a calm pub dog or one who lets visitors sit and relax. Well done Loki, Lenin and Bourbon (sorry we missed your settles Molly and Rodney) 🥰🐾👏🏻

On Wednesday our Wythall Puppy School pups and their owners introduced gentle handling, an important exercise to help desensitise pups to more formalised types of handling like a vet or groomer might have to do. By rewarding every small touch, these pups are learning that handling can be fun and will progress to more formal types in the next few weeks. Well done everyone 🥰🐾🙌🏻

Friday funny…. Having double coated breeds of dogs, the reality of this is huge. Thankfully we’ve desensitised our dogs to being handled and groomed so brushing is stress free. This is an important aspect that we build up in our puppy classes. Just as well as the photo of dog hair is from 3 brush strokes of one of our dogs 😳🐾🙈

In Puppy School classes pups learn three positions - sit, down and stand. Here are our Redditch pups practising these using food to help move them into position (luring - pups follow the food which helps them into that position). Once pups can follow the food, quickly this can be turned into a hand signal. Can you guess which pup is practising which position? Well done Tullulah, Olaf and Koda 🥰🐾👏🏻

Had another great evening making a glass infused dog picture based on one of mine… but which one? If you’ve seen my previous posts you’ll know I’ve already done one based on one before. Loved this as it makes you think, try and refine as well as being creative! Just like dog training! 🥰🐾🙌🏻

Following on from my earlier reel, here’s a reminder of winter hazards for furries ☺️🐾🥶

❄️☃️ Winter Safety ☃️❄️

To make sure you and your furry friend stay safe in the cold weather, please be aware of these common hazards:

❄️ It is never safe for your puppy to walk on a frozen body of water, as there is no way of knowing how thick the ice is. Keep them under close control around frozen water to avoid the risk of them falling through.

❄️ Salt spread on roads and pavements can be an irritant to your puppy's paws. Rinse their paws with warm water when you get home from a walk, this will also prevent them from licking the salt from their paws.

❄️ Antifreeze is poisonous to dogs if ingested. If you think your puppy has licked, or come into contact with any antifreeze, contact your vet immediately.

❄️ Small breeds, young puppies, and those with short hair are particularly at risk of losing heat quickly. Look at for any signs that they are cold (shivering or becoming tired) and bring them back into the warm as soon as possible.

Keep yourself and your pup safe out there, and maybe have fun with inside enrichment activities if the weather is too awful!

Exciting news…. Adam will now be running Puppy School classes in Solihull from February 🥰🐾🙌🏻 Adam has been a qualified tutor for a few years who helps run classes with Sarah and he now has the opportunity to run classes in Knowle, Solihull. This means we will now be Puppy School Hollywood & Solihull. Very pleased for Adam and Solihull pups are very lucky to have him. Classes start Tuesday 11th February at Knowle United Reform Church, 8pm 🥳🐾🤗
