We take in unwanted or stray cats and kittens, ensure they receive necessary veterinary care and find them their purrfect forever homes. All of our cats are fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, snap tested for for FIV and FeLV, and up to date with flea and worming treatment. They also go to their new homes with a ‘Gotcha Day’ package to ensure as smooth transition to help them settle into the

ir new homes. We have a fantastic team of volunteers who work around the clock with the day to day care of the cats and kittens in our rescue and have amazing vet support from Oaks Veterinary Centre, Cotteridge. Wellcat relies solely on donations, fundraising, volunteers and a supportive community. It is only through their continued dedication that the charity can continue running and helping hundreds of cats and kittens each year. Today marks a very special day…

We would like to say a Happy Gotcha Day to Pixie and Dottie!! 🥳♥️

These girls have been with us for months and have been on quite a journey. They went from having little trust in people, to gently rubbing their heads on their new family, who instantly fell in love with them.❣️

We would like to introduce our latest addition to our cat sponsorship. Everyone please meet Gracie.❣️

For those who may have missed Gracie’s story, she had a very tough start coming to us after her mom rejected her at birth. Gracie has Cerebellar Hypoplasia, she is deaf and suffers Immunodeficiency Disorder, which leaves her very vulnerable.

Gracie is doing really well now and although she has her ups and downs, there are definitely more ups these days.❣️

A story of two cats.

Dottie and pixie came to us earlier in the year, they are still here. Chances are they are going to stay here because the odds are against them. They don’t have long fur. They are not tortie or grey, or even tabby. Dottie and Pixie are short haired black and white adult cats.

These two girls are so precious, but they can be timid when it comes to meeting new people. We don’t know why because they can’t tell us. We don’t know how they feel when they meet new people, or why they are afraid, or if they feel they are in danger. All we do know is that it took them 14 weeks to trust us. 14 weeks of us giving them space and time to adjust. 14 weeks of putting a single treat on the floor and us stepping back only to repeat the process again the next day until finally they felt safe enough to come to us.

Pixie was the first to trust. She began giving us head butt’s and weaving between our legs. She was so desperate for love. Dottie still hid in her hiding hole, just watching, not sure. Eventually Dottie too came out of hiding and suddenly it was as if the penny dropped. They were safe, they were loved and they were wanted. Dottie and pixie are so lovely but who is going to spend 14 weeks gaining their trust, waiting, slowly showing them that they are safe, loving them? This is our fear, that Dottie and Pixie will be overlooked. Cats are a product of their environment. These kitties have so much love in them, they just need a loving hand to hold and a gentle whisper.

We are looking for a very special person who will give these precious sisters a chance. They will be nervous. They may hide. They could both take weeks or even months to come around. But somewhere there is a home for them, they just haven’t met you yet.

Hello, my name is Brony. 😺 I’ve been staying at Wellcat for several months now, they call me a special cat so here’s my story… I first arrived at Wellcat with my three kittens, who were around 2 weeks old. I was very scared and protective of my babies. The Wellcat people said I was a fantastic mommy and they’re all grown up now so they will be leaving to their forever homes soon. A forever home sounds nice, I’m looking for one of my own. But not just any home, a really nice and quiet one with someone extra special who will understand me and love me unconditionally.❣️ You see, I’m not your typical cat, I’m still building my trust with people. I’ve made amazing progress and I promise I’m a very nice kitty! 😺 I liked being picked up now, they wrap me up in a blanket to make me feel safe and give me lots of kisses on the head. My favourite sound is actually kisses! I usually chatter back when they do it and have the sweetest purrs. 😻 I know I’m not the cat people are typically drawn to but maybe there is someone out there who will love me for me? We have been growing cat grass for the rescue kitties and here is Sammy’s first reaction. 😺 Thank you to the kind supporter who donated some in one of our supermarket drop off locations! ♥️

For those of you who were following this poor guy, meet Travis. You'll be happy to hear that Travis has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. We don't know anymore at this time as we don't want to do too much too soon. He will be going back to the vets in a few days for some blood tests, it may be a while before we can castrate him though as he is very frail. But in the meantime he has been bathed and is safe. Here's a little video we put together to start his new journey. Rescued means to a better place. ♥️

Jared update.❣️ Wonderful news to report today for Jared's daily update. Previously his temperature has stayed around 39.9, it has been higher! But not today folks. Today we've seen an incredible turn around his temperature today is a fantastic 38! He looks bright and alert. He is trying to eat without help and if course, he is purring. We are all sooooo happy. 😺 He still is unable to see and he certainly isn't out of the woods yet, but to see him looking so much brighter is just amazing. This is all down to you guys and Tito's fund. We hope you had a lovely bank holiday weekend. ♥️ Yesterday was a busy one for us! Whilst many people were enjoying the lovely sun, we were battling to keep Jay cool with ice, fans and cooling towels. Whilst the some of the team were caring for Jay, others were having a garden clean up. Ginny thought it was a fun game joining in with the sweeping so we took a moments break to let her play with the brush. 😹
