Some fab advice from our vets! Our pet safe sunscreen was indeed only SPF 15 so we'll be using their recommended baby sunscreen in future.

☀️ Suncream! ☀️

Animals are prone to sunburn and skin damage from UV rays just like we are, especially on areas with finer hair and more delicate skin such as above the eyes and ears (especially cats). 🐱

Cats with white fur are particularly susceptible, just as people with fair skin are! 🤍🤍

A lot of sunscreens are full of toxic chemicals. Anything that is applied to the skin starts to be absorbed into the blood stream within 20 seconds…crazy! 😱

This means that animals don’t just have to ingest toxins, absorbing it through their skin is equally as dangerous 😣

There are a few animal friendly spf creams on the market but the majority are only spf 15 which is nowhere near sufficient. They must have spf 50 to protect against the strong UV rays, even when it’s cloudy. 🌞 ⛅️

Even a lot of baby sun creams have harmful toxins in them. The following are free from zinc oxide, propylene glycol and salicylates:

From 10 June 2024 cats over 20 weeks old must be and registered on a compliant database 📆

By microchipping their cats, owners can increase the likelihood that they will be reunited with their beloved pet in the event that they go missing.

The cats have been having a well deserved rest after a busy week of being filmed eating treats for our Etsy page. With just 15 seconds a video and Opal taking on average 2 minutes to eat our chewier tidbits, it involved a considerable amount of editing!

Just a heads up that if you had your eye on the Chicken Heart Nuggies we only have 2 bags left (1 on our website and 1 on our Etsy) and won't restock until a few other products are depleted. They definitely will be though as they've shot up in popularity!

We think Lamb Baars are our best value treats along with the Chicken Heart Nuggies and we still have lots of them in stock at a reduced price. Here's an example of how long it takes Opal to eat a tiny portion and you'll understand why we've been on the same bag for the last six months!

We want to be as responsible as we can at Tidbit Tuck Shop and that includes avoiding wastage. Unlike an expiry date which is about safety, a best before date is simply a guideline on when food is at its best quality. Being dried meat, our treats last a long time and will still be perfectly fine to eat long after their best before date has passed.

Due to the best before date, we have reduced the price of these treats by 10% (they normally retail at £9.65). Please note however that dried meat lasts a long time and they will still be safe for your pet to eat long after the best before date has passed!10 dried lamb jerky strips made in the UK.....
