Hearing dogs alert to a number of important and left-saving sounds, but did you know they can also be trained to alert to a baby's cry?
This can be a lifeline for deaf parents who need to know when their child is crying, and this adds to the safety and security of home.
Marvellous Milo has been learning how to alert to a baby monitor and we think he is doing a brilliant job! ❤

What do you do with your left over antibiotics? What should you do?
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has been declared one of the top ten global public health threats by the World Health Organisation and any environmental contamination with antibiotics will only worsen this issue.
The veterinary profession has a responsibility to ensure judicious use and disposal of antimicrobials, particularly as the growing issue of AMR will affect people, pets and the planet for years to come.
As a result we are encouraging pet owners to return out-of-date and unused medicines for safe disposal.
Antibiotic residues have been detected in rivers around the world, potentially contributing to AMR and causing a negative impact on water quality and wildlife. Avoiding their entry into water systems and landfill, by simply returning these medicines to pharmacies, will help to keep antibiotics working and lower the risk of AMR.
Antimicrobials (or antibiotics) are essential in veterinary and human medicine to treat disease. We need to safeguard the use of existing antimicrobials and develop new ones.
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is the ability of a microorganism (like bacteria, viruses, and some parasites) to stop an antimicrobial (such as antibiotics, antivirals, and antimalarials) from working against it. This can cause treatments to become ineffective.
AMR is a shared problem that must be addressed using a ‘One Health’ approach bringing medical, veterinary, and environmental professionals together. AMR is one of the most pressing global health challenges we face this century.

Our practice is taking part in the 2024 Antibiotic Amnesty.
Throughout November 2024 we are asking pet owners to return any unused or leftover antibiotic medications to us for safe disposal.
Please drop off any unused medications to us at the practice. You can hand them in to a vet, nurse or the reception team. This medication might be left-over from a recent
prescription, antibiotics that you didn’t need or out-of-date medication. Let’s keep antibiotics working, together!
