Our volunteers absolutely adore sweet Crumpet🥰
They frequently walk him and play fetch with him in our secure field which he loves🐾
He has the most beautiful temperament and will make an amazing dog for someone🧡
Ruby update ♥️😻
Beautiful Ruby came into us a week ago as a poorly underweight stray 😢
She has now been to the vets for a full check up including full bloods and an abdominal scan.
Ruby has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism so is now on thyroid medication for this and will need to remain on this for the rest of her life.
This could partly explain why she's so underweight as well as her persistent poorly tummy. Hopefully she will soon start feeling a bit better now she's on this much needed medication and will start to gain some weight soon too, to get her looking and feeling healthier 🙏
We are so grateful to the kind people who were concerned for her and did something to help Ruby instead of just leaving her to continue suffering which sadly is the case for so many strays 🥺
So far we have learned that Ruby absolutely loves her meal times as well as some chin tickles. She is a really sweet girl 💖
It's early days so we will keep you updated on her progress and how she settles with us
Whilst we are happy to be able to help lovely Ruby, she wasn't an expected arrival with us so if anyone can help towards the cost of Ruby's vet bill we would be so so grateful!

Resident dog Mango is turning more cuddly in his older age and is appreciating fusses from carers, that he doesn’t normally appreciate! Although still only on his terms, it’s lovely that the once very scared street dog will not only accept but enjoy physical touch from people🥰

Frank tested out being an office dog for half an hour while his carer had a few things to do on the computer🧡
He enjoyed it, but towards the end he wanted some attention and snuggles🥰 Frank really can be so loving and affectionate once he’s familiar with you🤗

🐶🐾MINI CHEDDAR UPDATE🐾🐶
We are pleased to announce that Cheddar is making progress during his rehabilitation, however due to his trust issues being so deep rooted (likely due to having over 20 homes at only 2years old!), he is having to stay a little while longer. Of course what Cheddar needs, Cheddar will get! But this comes at a cost and the funds just aren’t there for this at all😢
All of our supporters helped us get Cheddar here in the first place, now we need to do a final big push to see him through the rest of this🤞🏻He has come such a long way and he deserves to be happy!🥰
He will shortly be going up onto the website to look for a foster or forever home for when he is back with us, but for now we need to raise the remaining funds for him to stay as long as he needs!🧡
We will also be doing a few jumble sales and potentially an event to help raise funds for Cheddar. If there is anything you can help with, please let us know🐾

Reggie has made friends with staff dog Banana and they love to play together🥰
Reggie has been on the website for some time now, with three unsuccessful rehoming attempts and all we want for him is for the home best suited to him to come along - we really believe he will make the most marvellous companion for someone😍🐾
He has had some interest and all the staff and volunteers are hoping that this works out for him - he truly deserves to be happy in a home🧡
We wanted to update you all, that Bowser went to sleep peacefully on Friday morning with his family surrounding him🧡
His peaceful passing wouldn’t have been possible without your donations, so thank you - we will forever be more grateful than you know for that🥰
He got to see some old friends, and even made some new friends days before his passing. All of us, left equally heartbroken from his loss💔
The Sanctuary certainly doesn’t feel the same without him, and it’s taking some getting used to for everyone here😔
We made this video to show how important Bowser was to everyone over the years. He truly was our best friend😢 We couldn’t fit everyone he loved in one video, so we hope that the rest of his family will post some memories and photos of him and/or with him in the comments. We want to keep Bowser very much alive in memory, and it would be beautiful if everyone shared their favourite memory/story with Bowser in the comments⬇️✨ We all know he got up to some mischief over the years🤣
We would of course send “Rest In Peace” wishes to Bowser but I think we all know he was far too high energy for that, and instead he will be running around barking and making himself known🤣 Either way, we know he won’t be in pain anymore which we can all take comfort in. Until we meet again my beautiful boy💚
🙏🧡 Tigger Update and Appeal 🧡🙏
Tigger is the old boy that was dumped and abandoned at our gates a few weeks ago by his owner. We were fortunate that a kind lady reached out to us with information because she recognised this beautiful old boy as a neighbourly cat she had known nearly all his life ❤️
We are so grateful we were able to find out his 18 years old and his name is Tigger (or Tig Tig as he was often called).
Tigger has settled in well with us and is such a loving boy 🩵
He has been receiving some routine vet work including blood work done due to his age and being slightly underweight but we are happy to report these were all in normal range ☺️
Tigger is in need of a dental and chest x-ray due to some coughing/crackly chest whilst at the vets. He also has a few lumps on his chin which will be checked out. He deserves to be treated like a king from now on and we will do what is right by him 🧡
⭐ If anyone can help by donating towards Tigger's veterinary costs then we will be very grateful 🙏

As much as we love Tigger, we are hoping there is a loving retirement home out there for this fella that we can get him into very soon where he can enjoy to live out the rest of his life. He only wants food and love and perhaps a garden to potter about in. He will also be looking for a pet free home as it's clear he does not like other cats or dogs.

It still saddens us that Dottie is still with us looking for a home. She has been continuously let down 😥. She is such a loving girl and just wants a loving home of her own 🥰

Jerry was so popular when we first shared him but since he has been available for rehoming he has had ZERO adoption enquiries 🥺😢
Now whilst this handsome boy can be a little tinker at times, he is just a big soppy boy at heart 🧡
Here he is with his main carer enjoying a lap cuddle and fusses. He loves to nuzzle into you for more loves 🫶. He now has the nickname Jer Bear 🐻 🤭
