🧡Mouse UPDATE🧡

We have been super busy over the Christmas period but we wanted to update you on how the two little girls we took in after they came to use in both in awful conditions at the end of last year😥

First up is Mouse💜 this cheeky monkey is certainly feeling worlds better now and her skin is looking amazing (apart from her hair growing back you really wouldn't know what an awful condition she came to us in).

🐾She has been a big favourite with our volunteers with everyone giving her lots of love and making sure she gets all the attention she deserves and now demands!

🐕Mouse is finishing her assessment and vet treatments and is now looking for a forever home!!! We have now put her on our website with all the information about the home she is looking for so if you would be interested in adopting Mouse please have a read all about her on her page
Mouse — Wythall Animal Sanctuary https://search.app/NHgJuiri9qQqpJdPA

🧡Thank you to everyone who has helped or donated towards Mouse's vet bills it really means so much and as you can see Mouse is now a happy little girl thanks to all your kind donations

🐰A beautiful photo of our Aslan, in all of his glory 😀🫶❤️

🦁 Aslan, has to be brushed and trimmed a lot by his foster carer to keep those locks in fine condition 😄. He does a wonderful job of grooming himself though, and his friend Storm is always at hand to help too! 😇🧡🐇

A few months ago we took in two very scared young kittens into our care from a colony of cats all living on the streets 😥. A caring lady and a whole group of wonderful people got together to help trap them, find rescue spaces and transport them to put an end to further breeding and further suffering 👏

So meet Chi-chi & Korin 😻
They had to be isolated for a little while due to having a parasite infection which they have now been treated for and given the all clear. They have also now received all their vet work and are doing well. We are currently still socialising them both to win them over more, particularly Korin (tabby male). Chi chi enjoys a little fuss and will purr but Korin is still unsure of touch. He has gained more confidence around people and is definitely learning to trust more as he no longer hides away all the time. It is so lovely to see their progress 🧡

They will hopefully soon be looking for a suitable home. They will definitely need a quiet adult only home with experienced cat owners that will be patient with them both.

Meet Maui 🐈🧡

Handsome boy Maui arrived in our care last week after he was found straying with a possible injury. Thankfully he is okay apart from some scratches we suspect he got from fighting. He is another entire male (not neutered) and is not chipped 😢

Maui was very nervous at first and is still a bit cautious of us but is settling more and starting to trust us and enjoy some fusses now 🥰
This sweet boy has had a health check and started vaccinations and is booked in to the vets next week to be neutered🍒

I think we can all agree he is a very cute boy. We will share more updates about Maui soon! 🥰🐾

🐰Storm assessing the area, making sure her foster carer has put everything back in the right place, after the full clean in hers and Aslan's room! 😄

❤️ Storm said she does appreciate the daily, around the clock room service ~ yet the human still doesn't quite know where everything needs to go 😆so Storm is always on hand to check and advise!!!

🐇Thank you Storm, we take it Aslan isn't as fussy 🦁😂

Did you know that Storm and Aslan are available to adopt ~ please follow the link below for more information:

Meet Chopper 🐇🧡

This beautiful boy arrived in our care last week after he was abandoned outside our reception by his owner 😥

We’d had a previous conversation with his owner and explained that we were unfortunately unable to help due to essential maintenance work needing to be carried out on the building that accommodates our rabbits, this meant we had no space for him but sadly he was found outside our door just minutes later.

Whilst we understand people experience difficult circumstances, we have a huge waiting list and a lot of people who are patiently waiting for a space who are also in desperate circumstances and need our help just as much.

One of the top reasons for people wanting to surrender their rabbit/s is because they do not have the time for them. Rabbits are complex animals and require lots of time and care. When people realise this, they sadly often end up in rescues or get abandoned like Chopper was and too often we are unfortunately on the receiving end of people’s frustrations.

Like most rescues we can only help so many and do so much with the space, time and resources we have. Animal welfare is important to us and we care deeply for all the animals in our care ❤️

We wanted to highlight the importance of taking responsibility for your pets and if you are struggling then please reach out to rescues for help but please remember to be kind as we are all doing the very best we can with the resources we have.

Lovely boy Chopper is currently in a temporary accommodation which is not ideal but the most important thing is that he is safe 🙏.
We will share another update about him soon ☺️

🐾 Sunday Success Story ~Mylo🐾🐕

We are sure many of you remember lovely Mylo. He went into his new home on a foster basis first but was officially adopted two months ago now 🧡 🐾

Mylo had been waiting a while for the right home to come along. He had some issues such as anxiety and guarding and had been diagnosed with IBD which affected his eating habits a lot. His adopters knew about his issues but believed he would fit well into their home with their other three dogs.

It wasn't an easy start as to be expected but Mylos people put the time in to work with Mylo and we're able to identify his triggers to help him. Of course, it took a good few days in the home for him to start to settle with his new dog brother's and into a new routine. He soon started feeling more comfortable and coming out his shell 🥰
Mylo also started eating so much better and was gaining consistent weight which was amazing for him!

Mylo's adopter says-
"It has been almost two months since we officially adopted him, and all I can say is that he is the most beautiful gentle cuddly boy. He plays with his doggy brothers and is exploring and seeing new things everyday, he has even enjoyed his first doggy holiday to the Lake District. We wouldn’t be without him!
We love you mylo!"

Thank you to Mylo's adopters and for sharing such a lovely update.
We are so happy for Mylo and wish him all the best for the future 🧡💙

Peter Parker is now looking for his forever home 🏡 🐈💙

You may remember Peter was found roaming around the sanctuary so we suspected he was either dumped or strayed especially as he wasn't neutered or chipped when found.

Peter is a lovely boy and has a friendly nature but is not too happy being around the other cats here in our cattery so he does get a bit stressed and frustrated 😔
He really does enjoy human company and affection and enjoys playing particularly if it involves catnip! His first love is food and as an ex stray this should be no surprise! 🤭
We do feel he has so much more love to give and will be a much happier content boy once he is comfortable in a home 🙏

Peter is looking for a home with no other cats although he can live with a cat friendly dog! He can live with older children but no young children and must be able to have safe outdoor access once settled.

Could you offer this lovely boy his forever home?
Please read his website profile to find out more about him and send in an enquiry form if you are interested in adopting Peter.... https://www.wythallanimalsanctuary.org/cats/peter

🐈Beautiful Ruby is waiting patiently for a home but has not yet received one interest 😥

Ruby is an older girl around 14 years old and is looking for her forever home in foster due to having hyperthyroidism and being on medication for the rest of her life (fostering Ruby means the sanctuary will continue to cover her veterinary costs while you provide a loving retirement home).

Ruby is a sweet girl and enjoys affection on her terms. She enjoys her meal times and chilling in her favourite bed but she isn't the happiest in our cattery and does really need to be in a home now.
Ruby would prefer a pet free home and needs to be an indoor cat.

Could you offer Ruby a home? Please read more about her and complete an enquiry form if you think you can offer Ruby the home she is looking for....
