DOMINO SAYS THANK YOU!

To everyone who has been adhering to our NO FEEDING policy. You may remember that not too long back, Domino had a flare up of laminitis (equine metabolic). This was caused by members of the public feeding him all sorts, but especially carrots in excess. This lead to him being stabled for 8 weeks on various medication, unable to run on the paddock or even eat grass. It is a very painful condition, and takes a lot of time and patience to heal from. Unfortunately, now that Domino has had laminitis, he is more susceptible to getting it again if his diet is not correctly managed.

We of course do everything we can our end, and it appears the majority of you have been helping us too by not feeding him! As a result, Domino has been laminitis free this year!

When we ask you not to feed the animals, it isn't to be spiteful. Our animals health is our number one priority. As a non profit farm, free and open to the public 7 days a week, its imperative that we also keep our vet bills down where possible. It is incredibly disheartening when we see our animals suffering and have to pay out hundreds of pounds to treat them, for something that is easily avoidable.

So a BIG THANK YOU again to everyone who is supporting us with this. We really do appreciate it! ๐Ÿ˜„

PLEASE DON'T FEED US!

A polite reminder to refrain from feeding the animals. We are in a really good place with their health at the moment, and would hate to see that reversed.

We have had to stop a few people the past few days, even more so with the arrival of the brighter weather.

We really appreciate everyone's cooperation on this, helping us keep our animals in tip top shape! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Our last but not least, little delight. Please give a loving welcome to Holly ๐Ÿงก

Holly has met Victoria and Poppy too! She was excited and there was lots of zoomies involved!

Holly is the last of our calves to arrive this year. She has been our third and final blessing of three beautiful girls. All of which take after there mothers! ๐Ÿฅฐ

We have another little secret joy to share with you. Please also give a warm welcome Poppy. Born on the 20th June 2023. She is named after her grandmother.

She is Mary's first calf, and what a wonderful mother Mary is being. Like a duck to water she bonded to Poppy instantly and both are doing really well.

Poppy and Victoria have become quite attached to each other already which is lovely to see.

Please give a warm welcome to Victoria๐Ÿฅฐ

Born on the 18th June 2023 to our lovely Scarlet. Both mom and calf are doing very well. Scarlet is being an excellent mother as always. She is named after her great grandmother.

Fun fact: Victoria shares her birthday with Anabelle, who is her cousin!

You may be able to spot Victoria in the paddock. She has a small white tip to her tail, again exactly the same markings as Anabelle!
